Okay so assuming keeping the "All marines must be the same gender as their primarch" thing,
Which Primarchs should be girls?
Repost because thread died right away.
>>zombies and skeletons are pools of pure necromatic energy and not the spirits of the dead
>>nightwalkers are powerful outsiders killed by negative energy animated as emanations of necrotic power
What does the pure necromatic being look like?
>>43791611
>>43791654
Death doesn't animate the dead though

That's because he kills them so fucking hard not even a puppeteer could make those corpses move.
Would /tg/ play a game about being professional Formula One drivers (or any other motorsports discipline of your choice)?
A game that not only focused on the off-track drama but also on using strategy during the race could be really interested if done well. The players don't even have to be in a party, they can be racers for different teams competing on the track and then getting into drama in-between each race weekend.

Sounds like the F-Zero RPG.
I would, but I suspect I'm in the minority.

Instead of le kungfu weaboo fightan purple robes guy, how would a western/Christian monk work in a fantasy setting?
Clerics come into mind, but they are based on Priests. Monks also spent time studying philosophy and sciences.

If you don't want to go the divine magic route, lots of knowledge skills and mundane healing.

Monday RPG Hipster, "I only play my own homebrew, you've probably never heard of it" edition m
Any games welcome, just remember "We played it before it was cool"
I brought up Neoviking in another thread. It's a humour game. It includes Neobunnies, a separate setting. It's in Swedish, released decades ago by Neogames (most of which are Helmghast these days). It's terrible.
So, is this supposed to be a thread about less popular systems and homebrew or what?
>>43791352
Less popular systems was the idea.
Which on /tg/ basically means anything not D&D.
>>43791134
Iron Heroes. Everyone hates Monte Cook but Ive run several successful games of this, the longest of which is ongoing and over two years old.
Basically it has eight martial classes and one/two caster classes. Each of the martials plays significantly differently than the next, have different strategies and can easily be multiclassed. The caster class the Arcanist has the beat magic system of any dnd variant Ive ever seen. Magic instead of being "cast fireball" uses a streamlined DC and mana system...

You are Ur'shal, Chieftain of the Stonetusk Clan and Warlord of the Wastes. Things have been going well for your clan recently, looting, raiding and expanding to dominate all the lands from the northern jungle to the edge of the howling mountains, and while you don't have the numbers to keep watch on every last corner of your territory, there's no-one left close enough to dispute it.
Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it), getting to where you are today from the meagre clan of twenty-odd half-starved orcs has required stepping on...

How would players react to a villain that can't truly be killed?
Say he comes back after a few villains with a new plan, or again with a new set of characters, or maybe he butts heads with another antagonist and the players are caught up between them.
My first time GMing will be this weekend, any general tips?
Probably either
>Then we'll find a way to kill him for good!
or
>Then we'll just keep killing him until he dies.
>>43789675
It depends on the nature of his immortality, really. If he simply can't be killed, you can throw him into space or lock him in a coffin. If he heals no matter what you do to him, that's more versatile - But he can still die.
It reminds me of Nethack, where I ran out of ways to kill a troll - So I ate the corpse, out of sheer desperation.
>>43789726
>>43789743
Just so we're clear, I'm talking about Diablo here.
Imprisonment was the general goal of Diablo 2, and killing him was the goal of 3.
I really like the idea of an unkillable foe. You can destroy his body, but he'll come back on his own in a century or so. And he can be imprisoned, at least until some madman frees him from his crystal prison.
Are yet ready, gitz?

How would you make a genuine angel PC work?
Envoy of their god sent to keep an eye on the party for "reasons." It's the only sensible reason I can come up with. If a god thinks the party important enough to warrant continuous monitoring, then they must be a big deal.
>>43789489
By not making them phony.
>>43789489
The answer is as always:
>>>IT DEPENDS
Your setting decides it, maybe the ange is sent by the heavens on a mission or it is an individual angel that is exploring the world. Maybe it got lost it's way and a storm of the aether flung it down to earth. Maybe it was dormant protecting a relic from evil that is long gone and the party was also looking for it and accidentally (or purposely) liberated it from dormancy. Maybe it is a mortal that was reborn in an angel...

Is anyone playing Mouse Guard 2nd Edition? Do you like the game?
>>43789343
I have it because I love mouse guard, and the book is amazing (not to mention it was like 35 bucks, so why not). Haven't had a chance to play it yet, but it reads pretty well and looks like a solid system.
>>43789343
Is there any significant changes in the rules from first edition?
>>43789650
Literally came to ask this.
I'm not a /tg/ guy but I figured it'd be best to ask here.
Looking into christmas presents to get relatives and such. I know my brother is into board and card games so I was thinking of getting him pic related. Is it any good? From what I've seen it seems like it could be a fun little party game, though I'm not sure.
>>43789298
>>43775878
Superfight's fun, but there's not much real game there, it's just a social thing where you argue about how many gokus superman can bench.
That doesn't mean it's a bad gift though.
If you want to get him an actual small game, look into Star Realms, Epic, Love Letter, The Resistance / Avalon, Mafia de Cuba, Coup, Mascarade, Arctic Scavengers, One Night Werewolf / One Night Revolution, or something...

Haven't played, but just watched a video of some people playing it and it looks pretty lame tbqh. Unspeakable words is a pretty fun party game. Some of the stuff >>43789581 mentioned is pretty good too, like The Resistance or Love Letter. Also Munchkin.

What the hell, anon. Uncalled for.
I have a problem with keeping myself motivated to run a game. I'm usually quite excited for the first session, I prepare a lot, I think I do a good job running the game. But rarely do we have a second session. I even tried to run a one shot last time and of course we didn't manage to get through it in one go. It's not that I don't want to do it... but games keep fizzling out.
What do?
>>43789239
Why are the games fizzling out?
Do you give up trying?
Do you never gather for another session?
Do the other players' investment in the game don't match yours?
>>43789239
Space your games out enough to get excited for each new session.
Get players that don't make running the game seem like a chore.
Run a player driven campaign.
Any combination of above.
>>43789315
What;s a player driven campaign?
