Two thousand and sixteen years ago, ancient and forgotten kings of man performed a horrific ritual that buried and hid all forms of magic and all forms of life aside from ignorant beasts and man.
Dwarves, Elves, Goblins and Orcs. All manner of magical life was forgotten. And in the absence of their worshipers the gods withered away and died.
Now, in 2016 the curse has lifted, magic returns to the world, and in the absence of the original pantheon, famous and infamous individuals from human history have been resurrected and become new gods. Avatars of what they, in life had championed.
Who would you worship? Who would you fight for? Who deserves a mortal hand?

Tall, youthful, pointed ears and straight hair, soft smooth skin that can change colour ranging from blue to red, usually like a mood-ring adjusting to body temp, They are adept at magic from birth and are essentially immortal, if a little fragile. along with their long life they are slow to regenerate but can regenerate entire limbs.
Why not try Reverse-Vampires?

Why do dragons in movies tend to be beastlike murdermonsters with no intelligence?
The traditional dragon you'd see in something like LOTR or D&D is highly intelligent, but 99% of movie dragons are about as smart as an angry bear.

That seems inaccurate. What dragon movies come to mind to you, exactly? Because I think Flight of Dragons, Hobbit, Dragonheart, How to Train your Dragon and Reign of Fire. Which is only 20% mindless-monster. The other one that comes to mind is the one from Angel, which I'm pretty sure he ended becoming bros with, later on.

Would be a plausible alternative history possible, where infantry and not cavalry/knights dominate the battlefields? (Medieval/Europe)

I mean, there's plenty of room in Shadowrun to come up with one-note gimmicks, the kind of character no GM would allow a player to take but who are perfect for a counter-runner.
I don't understand the issue; you just use standard mooks, then add your special boss on top for a bit of spice and challenge. Unless they are the active agents (hunting the runners) then it's easy to fit them into a run.

Shadowrun's so lethal that it's honestly kind of underwhelming a lot of the time. Scary bad guys most often are the mental types. That said, I have put in some Real Badasses who the players probably shouldn't attack, and then waited for the players to come up with a way to turn the fight unfair.
What if Shadowrun was written and owned by Square Enix?
Linear storyline with a shitload of sidequests.
Campaigns would be grinds until your numbers can beat the BBEG's numbers, and in the meantime you work out the finer point of Chocobo husbandry.
Everyone would have a stat for Belts and a stat for Zippers.
A human would stand a chance against a dragon.
