Hello /tg/ I've been a longtime lurker of the community, and recently due to an infatuation with early Russian history, I've wanted to start by seeing whether or not anyone would be interested, in a quest about it. This primarily covers the Early Muscovite period, in the middle to late Mongol Yoke. This period in time is where most of the Russian Asiatic culture gets its roots. Here's to hopefully a slightly informative, and hopefully fun alt-history adventure.

You are the son/daughter of Russian immigrants, who emigrated from the Soviet Union after its collapse in 1991. After arriving in the states, your parents would establish their careers before they had you, after half a decade adjusting to life in the United States. Your parents always encouraged you to adapt to American culture, and since you were born they talked to you about being glad you lived in the United States. Your parents are reasonably well off, and your life was spent in a relatively sheltered environment. However your parents encouraged you to go out and expand your knowledge through any means. Still though, they taught you how to speak/read/and write in Russian. Making sure you take pride in your cultural heritage. To this day, you are proud to say you are a first generation American, but also a first generation college student. Your parents never went to college, in fact your father and mother in the Soviet Union worked as civil servants. Today however, your father works as a System Threat Analyst for a very important Technical firm on the East Coast of the United States. Your mother works as an executive at a major accounting firm in the local area. Your family although not extremely wealthy, is still well off by today’s standard. However you are actually the first generation of both their families to go to University. So today begins a very important day in your life and hopefully a path to a bright future.
You wake up to your alarm. Its excessive ringing over the past 12 years you have had the cursed thing has woken you up time and time again for middle and high school. However today is a very important day. Today is the day you start your new life at University.

Seriously, I have seen mood music used seven times over my years of playing RPGs, and it has only been effective ONCE by someone who was a good DM anyway.
Either you play music that your players don't like and it pisses them off, or you time it shittily, or it's playing out of your shitty laptop speakers that you use at the table as an excuse to not be away from technology for more than five goddamn seconds to play a roleplaying game.
Music in RPGs is just terrible. That's why 90% of groups don't use it.

Necromunda is an oldschool tabletop skirmish game (though it does have a few RPG elements), and I was thinking of just having it play at low volume in the background. The standard heroic/glorious-charge type stuff doesn't seem to really be all that in-tone for Necromunda since your gangs are essentially scum bickering over scraps.
((On a completerly unrelated note, I've had background music work pretty well a few times in games I've run (I got positive comments on it from players afterwards), but it generally has to be used in moderation and you have to have set up the playlist to provide enough of the right tempo/theming for each scene/encounter you are using it during.))

In an uncharacteristic stroke of open-mindedness, my DM is letting me play a Warder, but since I'm brand new to PoW I have a couple of questions.
As a zweihander sentinel, is the only way I can pick up Silver Crane maneuvers through taking the Advanced Study feat? And if I want to switch out readied maneuvers, does it take the same amount of time as it does to initially prepare them?

why wouldn't there be magic guns? people cast magic. they can enchant things to make them do magic when they aren't around to do magic themselves. it can do all the functional things of an exploding shell with none of the chemistry. do you actually have any real arguments against a fantasy setting having an earlier development of guns relative to a real world time line?
Guns in fantasy are great, except when introduced like this.
I mean, it was probably meant as the "big shocking reveal", but if you're going to do that, have someone show up to a siege with a cannon brigade. Late medieval cannons were scary as hell.
This comic is weird, because it's like the entire goal is to make you dislike every person in it, and they're succeeding triumphantly.
