However, the text boards aren't image boards. They aren't really apart of the current community and can be considered separate entity. This means they can be used to fit certain niche's or just a way to have a different environment to the main boards. It also allows you to fix certain problems on the image boards, such as generals, by forcing them into the text boards as they fit better there. moot originally made /n/ as the news board. Stormfags took it over, so he deleted the board and replaced it with the current /n/ (transportation).
A while later, moot made /new/ as the new news board, and in the board's sticky said if this board also turns into Stormfront 2.0, he's going to delete it as well. To no one's surprise, the board became stormfag central and moot eventually deleted it.
Then, after some more time has passed, moot decided to cave in to stormfags and give them their own board. That's when he created /pol/. /pol/ was created and envisioned as the stormfag board since day one.
