How about adding a minimum character limit for OPs?
Something like 2 lines and 160 chars min. (not counting quotes or links) would do a lot to cut down on the low-content shitpost threads that popular boards like /a/ and /v/ are so plagued with.
Hell, just enable the r9k robot for all boards.

Also if OP thinks /a/ and /v/ have too many of those threads, inacting such a policy would kill literally like 3/4ths of /tv/. Then again they'd fucking deserve it for having 10-20 copycat threads of various spam/forced shit meme threads up at any given time.

Enabling the robot for OP posts could be interesting, as it would force new threads to be made (to an extent). The filter would need to be reset every once in a while though, and maybe not used on the porndump bards. We do need a minimum word/character count on most OPs though.

The way to keep those things in check is to stop caring about it. It's funny though because when you stop caring about it then you don't even need for it to be kept in check to begin with. (You will naturally forget and not care about shitposting and your entire perception and enjoyment of 4chan's quality will go up)
