Time for things to settle down a bit, and for Equestrians to begin to settle into the new year. School's still out, so the fillies and colts are all still enjoying their extended break. Some might have remembered the usual assignments coming up and prepared journals to remember the stuff they're doing everyday (why are teachers so interested in vacations, anyway?), but most are just having fun along with other ponies. This year Sweetie Belle's got her burgeoning magic to assist in her usual activities - and a brand new mark at that! The shield's shared with her friends, but the note in the center's all her's.Does it mean she's good at caroling?

So how was the new episode?
1) Today and tomorrow /mlp/ will host and participate in the JMC2 (a.k.a. Jon Memorial Cup), a 4CC invitational. This is the debut of our team in PES16, so tune in and shitpost with us in the Twitch chat.
2) With the Winter Cup on the horizon, the time has come to revisit our roster. There will be three polls over the next few weeks, so keep an eye out for them in Cup threads as they pop up. The first poll will measure the popularity of our current roster, followed by a poll to nominate new players, and finally a poll to decide which players will actually make the cut. If you have an idea for a new /mlp/ player, please make your recommendation here in the thread and we'll make a note of it.
3) The /mlp/ test team tournament will take place January 23-24. Five potential Winter exports will be dressed up as different MLP-themed teams and compete to determine which is best. More details to come.

New Year's is probably at least a two-night party, if not longer - Equestrians aren't particularly parsimonious! Are new year's resolutions a thing for them, too? The Cutie Mark Crusaders could always use some defined foci now that their first official charter is fulfilled. Diamond Tiara might still be refurbishing some bridges - at the least, Randolph might appreciate some consideration in his service.
