The precise mechanics on the cutie map are as yet mysterious. Presumably the linked marks on the throne are tied to the Elements of Harmony in some remote manner, given the circumstances of the creation of the castle and its map. How does it know who to call into action where and when, though? A degree of foresight seems built-in, though even the most time-sensitive situations seemed to have a little leeway, given there are no further clues beyond location. No wonder it was chosen as a focus for time travel. It may be enough that it works at all now, at least. How aware is it of present circumstances?

How often does Canterlot see redecoration? On the one side, there's the boosts from holiday synergy and variety for interest, but on the other, it seems rather easy for tastes to conform on some arbitrary standard. Shaking things up can take some effort (like inviting a group of six ponies with some strong ideas about parties)! But there's at least a few restaurants that will want to advertise a new look, soon. Could be good times for some crafty ponies.

With the trend kicked off by their newest eatery, Restaurant Row in Canterlot should be quite a different experience soon enough. It might not completely crowd out Zesty's tastes, but a re-evaluation may be in order, for sure. Could a new gourmand challenge the established ratings? Maybe what they need is some wide-scale taste test to show off to the citizens of Canterlot. Maybe the Castle could host it.

Saffron Masala is the true passion behind the Tasty Treat as its chef, but it was the support of her father and their cooperative cooking in her youth that ignited her ambition and kept it burning. He's probably not so bad in the kitchen himself - though acting steadfast as host perhaps speaks to either a lesser aptitude or desire to do so. Coriander Cumin may have had some nest egg to open a restaurant in Canterlot, too. Wonder what his profession was at home? And what of the mother?

The Tasty Treat seems like it's found its home on Restaurant Row, after some cajoling. The exotic flavor has made a bit of a stir in town, after all. Where does it come from? Saffron and Coriander hail from outside Canterlot; "halfway across Equestria" was an expression the father used. The community in the capital might not be what they're used to in their previous home, but it was important to Chef Masala to introduce the cooking she'd known since childhood to the population. Given time, there'll be many more ponies familiar with the flavor than when she arrived! Has Celestia ever tried such cuisine?
