What do you guys think about bows?
They're cool, and I suck at them.
>>29213334
So does the person that posted that ebay listing.
>>29213313
They're pretty sweet, bow hunting doesn't have nearly the number of restrictions as fun hunting when it comes to suburban areas, basically don't shoot at a house or person and you're good to go most places
What pistol should I get first?
What one or brand do I need to get?
Both
"stabilizing braces" look cooler on ARs.
>>29213340
Can only afford one right now
In a total Dark age reverted SHTF scenario do you think we could re-discover/invent the musket? Or would we be able to catch up to our modern firearms quicker? Or there's the true shit scenario of reverting to blades and bows again.
>>29213263
the tech wouldn't be easily forgotten. the idea of gunpowder weapons would resurface quickly. modern firearms would come along at the same time as modern machining was re-introduced. blades and bows would be relevant as long as materials and resources were scarce
>>29213263
going back to black powder would not push us so far back as the musket, what you would see is a greater reliance on blowback weapon systems as opposed to gas operation, blowback and recoil operated systems can function dirtier than a gas operated system. they are usually heavier or require a system like the g3 that uses a delaying mechanism (roller delay in the case of the g3) to allow for the chamber pressure to drop to safe levels which would be lower in the case of BP. effectively making guns like the AR15 less...

God I love the design of flintlock rifles, if only somebody can keep that design and maybe turn it into a bolt action or semi auto. I'd fucking buy a million of those. But just keep that look, all I ask for.
What is /k/'s opinion on the H&K USP9? I picked mine up last month and have put about 1,000 rounds through it so far.
>>29212929
A very good gun. I really don't give much of a shit about HK's guns personally but the USP line is one of their best.
USP's are great guns.
>>29212929
If you're going to get a USP, go for the .45
Could someone explain to me why promag is shitty? I've never had a problem with them, even the forty round mag. That monstrosity is just fun to use, can't use the bayonet though.
>>29212802
>I've never had a problem with them
Because some people don't go shooting at a square range and actually put hard use through their guns.
Plus, anyone who isn't a dipshit (unlike you) already has an ak for this
>>29212802
You have soft, feminine hands. I'd make you jerk me off after your promag jams up your gun.
>>29212802
Promag mags are manufactured poorly using shitty materials. If you took that mag apart, you would probably find the that the follower sticks once or twice and that the edges of the feed lips, sides of the follower, etc. are sharp. These are all bad things. All removable SKS mags are shit too.
All right /k I've never been in this board before and I just need advice here is the thing: I'm planing on getting a gun for the first time and I don't want to make an asshole of myself at the gun store help me out with some good ideas for what to purchase and like what can I get with my budget 1k top and I don't want nothing related to that Taurus Shit even I know those are for niggers
>>29212778
Shotgun, rifles, pistols, revolvers?
Get a Smith & Wesson M&P shield 9mm or .40 either is good. 9mm probably better for a first gun but I don't know you. The shield is good too because if you decide to get a CCW it's perfect and it's also good for going out and shooting targets.
>>29212778
First learn how to use punctuation you dumb motherfucker.
why did the 1911 outlast all other pistols being produced after ww2? There were some great ones from a lot of different countries and at the rate of how many 1911s are produced from different companies, why didn't other pistols get the chance?
I would have loved to see p38s or FNs have the same production today
The radom looks pretty sweet
>>29212713
Because those other countries don't have a domestic gun culture. Half of them were communist for 45 years too.
Because JMB pioneered many of the aspects that are still used in handguns today.
The patent ran out, so anyone can make it. Thus the popularity of production.
The other sides lost, therefore their production was disrupted, they fell behind the iron curtain, or they had un-modern designs like the Webley revolver.
I'm going to get my first rifle.
I want something to shoot and am thinking about steel. What does /k/ recommend?
I recommend keeping your trigger finger free
If you've never shot get a .22 of some kind. Learn the barebones basics of shooting. Then move up to something bigger.
Cheap surplus is okay for putzing around, if you're serious look into something like a Savage bolt gun. If you want a semi auto, the default lowest common denominator would be something like an M&P sport AR. Or you can part one together. They're generally cheap.
>>29212706
I am getting a CZ 452
School me on the Walthers, primarily the PPS and maybe the CCP. Do they really have the smoothest and best triggers on a single stack 9mm? I admit I kinda slept on Walther because of the shitposting and because they're just not as popular as Glock or S&W but I'm looking into them now.
>>29212635
Trigger is pretty good for a striker fire gun, but the main draw is how damn thin it is.
>>29212635
Just get a Glock 43 or a Shield. Unless you must have special snowflake gun. Then get PPS M2.
>>29212939
I'm looking into the PPS and I'll try to find one to shoot but the supposed quality of the trigger and the rail have my curiosity.
Well /k/? How can you handle this flawless logic?
>>29212603
Do I need a gun? Of course not. I don't need to vote, have freedom of speech or be able to travel from state to state freely, either. There are plenty of people in prison who have everything they need, but none of what they want.
>>29212603
Literally Joseph Goebbels tier

>Public education
Hi /k/,
What's the best set of night vision goggles on the market?
What's the best bang for buck (assuming I don't want to drop more than $2k)?
Can you see through walls?
Any other info that would be helpful?
>>29212427
Sounds like you want thermal.
>>29212427
$2,000 budget = PVS-14
You will see in the dark, and see skinwalkers stalking you in the distance - but by then it's already too late
>>29212529
>but by then it's already too late
why?
>>29212456
>Sounds like you want thermal.
maybe. I'd like to be able to see through walls.
I'm not clear what the difference is between simple night vision and thermal
do you have any recommendations?
When does a rifle become an "assault rifle"? How does one acquire a thirty magazine clip?
>>29212199
Whenever it hits someone, is arrested, and brought before a judge.
>>29212262
You got it mixed up.
The person has to feel threatened by the Rifle and then sue for assault.
Battery is when the rifle physically makes contact with the person.
>>29212199
Intermediate round, select fire, detachable magazine preferred.
More of a military classification. ATF doesn't classify assault rifles as far as I know, because any select fire is a machine gun, so that would just leave public opinion, which basically means scary gun that has the aesthetics of a modern military small arm.
>Well, I got here the same way the coin did.
You come home and see this
What are your last words?
Also, captive bolt pistol thread
You don't have to do this.
Do it faggot.
No words. I would draw immediately. He'd beat me, of course, but at least it wouldn't be the bolt gun. I'd least I'd die with dignity.
How do you feel about this guy?
Fells good man.
I havent fucked up and gotten my friends kilked because I lied to them about knowing how to drive a stick.
And we've shot the same number of people.
>>29210871
I have no opinion, one way or the other.
my response is to tactically scroll away from these threads
> Ukrainian soldiers often communicate with off-the-shelf Motorola walkie-talkies, sharing frequencies with their enemies. The two sides sometime taunt each other over the open airwaves.
>you will never shitpost on the airwaves against vatniks

Imagine shit talking against the people your live firing on in real time. COD in real life.
>>29210857
Fuck that sounds like a nightmare. I'm surprised we haven't sent PRC117s with those humvees and other non weapon things.
