My boots (pic related) have the treads worn to nothing. Today I nearly face planted into a tractor pushing it into my garage after slipping on some wet leaves, so it's time for them to go - but I don't know what to get in replacement. What's a good place to try on new boots? Are there makes / models I should look for or avoid? Just something to wear all day, every day.
Fits like a glove, good dry traction, waterproof.

mostly what ever patrol would carry, maybe a compact over a duty sized for comfort. cuffs, a radio they keep in their car and maybe a tiny flashlight
How many magazines is a reasonable amount

As many as you need, really. If one eventually does wear out it isn't a scavenger hunt to find a new one unless you have a rare weapon. The 10-round for my .22 scout rifle (circa 1940) went missing and I know I'll never find a new one unless I get lucky at an auction website. I have 4 magazines for my carry pistol. The concealed 9 round it came with, the extra 15 in the box, and two new ones I got in a packaged deal. I use the extras for training so I don't have to unload my carry ammo every time I want to go to a range. I don't ever see there being a huge...

Get as many as you can hoard, they will only ever be scarcer and more expensive than they are now. I have a dozen 1911 mags and at least 30 AR-15 mags. I buy a few every time I see a good price, can't have too many. It is nice not to have to load mags at the range, especially when you have newbs with no finger strength with you.

Well I feel like it would be easier to pacify a city, especially if the immigration system initially lets in more educated people to form a social backbone.
I think the idea is that desert Hong Kong would be occupied by Arabs, but initially ruled by euros with a slow transition as new Arabs are trained in proper administration.

I think airguns can be an interesting way to learn the basics, especially in places where you cannot shoot. However I don't think it can replace real gun training in the long run.
It's not really going to be comparable since the trigger and recoil impulse are nothing alike, but it will probably help with some stuff and they are a lot of fun on their own... The airsoft sig I bought was garbage though so it is probably worth it to buy a good solid one.

I'm in the process of picking my equipment, but I'm confused as to what to pick for my arrows.
I'll be shooting a target recurve, 66", 30lb (to start with) with a 27" arrow length .
How do i work out what spine and weight point to pick?
I've heard good things about Easton's arrows, so i'm thinking about going with them.
Pretty much every combination of arrow shaft and arrow head has a different weight and flight pattern so the only thing you can do is PRACTICE

Say there was a gun that was only made in 5.56, and I wanted it in .308, what exactly would I have to do? I know I'm gonna have to build one from scratch, and I know I'm gonna have to beef up some parts and change the mag well, but I'd like to get /k/'s thoughts on this/how possible it would be. I know there'd be a lot of effort but I have access to enough tooling to do this, it's just a matter of redesign and such.

Most spear guns are designed to be fired underwater, I'd be careful about buying one for surface use. You're going to want something longer than that babby jbl though.
