>Tfw we had 6.5 swede FALs on trial.
Wonder what happened to them.
.260 Remington is the most efficient overall
.243 is also good, but I guess 6mm might be too small for some.

Alright /k/ I may have the opportunity to buy an old SPAS-12 here soon from a family friend. It's got the old style receiver, recalled flip safety, folding stock, and the 24" barrel with an 8-round tube.
I imagine I could probably buy it for around the $800ish mark. Should I do it for memes and as a general investment? I'll never use the safety.
>>29193082
Yes.
>>29193082
Buy it or forever be a faggot
>>29193082
>$800
jesus god yes do it
If you lived in a large urban area, and there is a big catastrophe like Katrina - What type of rifle would you want to be equipped with?
Would you use a different rifle to stay in the city than to get out(something more concealable)?
.22LR bolt gun with quiet ammo; can use to warn off people getting too close to my position; you know, the odd looter that doesn't really look like too much of a threat until he's next to you. If he keeps on coming, then bang to the chest.
.308 bolt gun for everything else
I'd be set up in a hide at my home, so single shots are all I'd need. I wouldn't be moving around outside at all.
>>29192927
>implying they won't confiscate guns before helping people.
>>29192945
To add, I'd use binos, of course.
Never scope someone until you want to shoot at them.
AUSTRALIAN LEGAL SUPPRESSORS
if you're from New South Wales, you may not be able to get a WFA1 straight pull or a ruger precision rifle
BUT you can not get suppressors
>http://www.police.nsw.gov.au/__data/assets/file/0019/262009/PW_GR_Silencer_-_2016.pdf
reasons now include Recreational/Sporting purposes
A battle has be won lads
>>29192836
Reasons always included that, this just puts it on the application form.
There are 0 or close to 0 people in NSW that have suppressors for recreation apparently.
We'll see if this changes anything.
>tldr nothing has changed law wise, it's only added the reason application now
SSAA has been pushing for it
Good
Hope it comes up here in QLD
I have a couple of handi rifles that are nice and easy to thread; one in .44 Mag too, so I can shoot heavy subsonic and still have a thumper.
Even though I live on 40 acres, the noise still travels, and I don't like bothering the neighbors.
>>29192836
>he has a rifle with an optic
>but no sling
I know you're here. What the fuck is your excuse? Why do you have your priorities all mixed up? This should be interesting, my little mall ninja.
>>29192803
I'm not 300lb so carrying something within my house doesn't require a 3 point sling, friend
>>29192808
... you don't know how to use a sling for aiming?
>>29192811
Because I sure need the stability to do 5-10ft shots right?
Is it okay to shoot a .22 without ear protection?
>>29191896
no, it's not. with specific types of ammo it can be okay but you should just wear your fucking earpro
>>29191896
Depends on the .22 firearm. I had a marlin model 80, bolt action .22, that with high velocity ammo was borderline hearing safe but with sustained exposure could cause loss. With CB's, definitely safe. A 10/22, or any .22 handgun on the other hand, are closer to your ear, and semiautomatics tend to be louder. Get a decibel meter to measure your specific firearm to be sure. Or you know, just put some fucking foamies in half assedly and be sure.
>>29191896
I've shot of 12 gauge without ear pro, it rings for a little bit but you'll be fine if you're not a bitch and you don't do it that often
The only handgun I own is my grandpa's old cz and I'd like to keep it preserved in working condition and get myself another decent handgun. I'm currently torn between the usp .45 and pic related. I've shot both and loved it, but am wondering how they hold up in the long run.
Also handgun thread
>>29191847
The USP would probably be better, in my humble but honest opinion.
>>29191847
Speaking from experience, the USP.45 is a great handgun. I would highly recommend it if you're willing to pay the extra ~$200
>>29191847
The legion 226 is around the same price as the mk25 and I think it has a much better da trigger. Lgs had p226navy for 999.99 and legion for 1099.99...
So I saw on the internet gattling attachments for ar15. Those little buggers shoot pretty damn fast. I had this idea of make a rack and pinion shotgun slide that would power one of those to slap the trigger like 30 times everytime you rack back the slide. Would this be legal?
>>29191647
You're fucking retarded.
>>29191647
>literally thinking of ways to make bullets spray out of a firearm in almost random directions
>>29191656
Fuck this guy I like the idea.
So I recently went shooting with this s&w 22lr and I was hitting soda cans at about 90-100 yards. I'm pretty new at this I do own a sub compact xd9 for self protection.
But basically what would /k/ recommend for a longer range pistol target shooting
>>29191635
I think if you can hit soda cans at 100 yards with a pistol you don't need our advice
>>29191646
truth
>>29191646
It was a fluke. I was surprised. It was 1 maybe 2 out of the 6 it holds

Sorry sir, but your neighbor has reported sightings of you carrying your firearms to and from your car. I'm going to need to extensively search your residence and the surrounding area. We have a FEMA camp set up for you to stay until the search is complete.

I was being ironic my man
I think I've settled on my first carry handgun. I ended up on the Ruger LCR, .38 Special +P model. It's 13.5oz unloaded, 5 shot, internal hammer, DAO. Tell me why my decision is shit.
> Why not .357 instead of .38, since it can also shoot .38, faggot
The .38 model is 4oz lighter. And with a 2" barrel, the .357 recoil is disproportionately large to the damage it can do, when compared to .38 +P out of the same barrel.
> Why a wheelgun, faggot
Simplicity. I want a simple mechanism....

it's shit because it's a revolver and you suck at shooting and this will make you suck even more so i hope you end up dying in a fire to avoid the inevitable nigger rape after you've missed all you're shots
:^)
>>29191253
;)
Is 5 rounds too few for carry? I figure the logic is, if I can't put the attacker down in 5, I deserve to die.
>>29191219
The guy going on about how revolvers are shit's an idiot.
However the real joke is that you didn't buy the only good thing Ruger has ever made, an SP101.
Even then, I have my doubts...so, I'll ask, why did you not get literally anything but a Ruger in the shittiest caliber since...I dunno, .32 ACP or something?
Also, you have more options to train with if you got the .357.
In all honesty there's no reason for .38 to exist anymore.
And if you're complaining about four...

Besides eating the deer, what else can I do with it? Are the pelts of any value, or can I make stuff out of it?
But most importantly, can I learn how to "process" it in hunting classes (not sure if that's the right term)?
>>29190980
shoot it, field it, freeze it, eat it.
>>29190980
mount its stupid head

just don't cut into the stomach.
look online how to field dress its not hard
take it to a butcher.
just make sure you keep something of the animal that will prove its gender.

if you're hunting for a big boy take a guide with you he will know all that stuff.
Hey /k/. My girlfriend is moving away from me to New Orleans for school. I think she should have a gun. What gun should I get her? Pic unrelated
>>29190885
Glock 43.
Now scram!!!!
>>29190885
None. She'll use her new boyfriend's gun.
>>29190885
Some type of stub nose revolver since they work and are easy to take care of.
