Depends on what you are wanting to use it for, I despise cheap optics though so would suggest you pony up at least $600 for a scope.

Go second hand to save some $$$ if you buy decent glass it doesn't matter if its new or not.
>>
>>29277409
I got the rifle just for general plinking and making it a bit of a bench queen.
i have budgeted like 600-700 but ill look into a second hand...and so do i, my friend has a 40 dollaridoo one he got off ebay and he thinks its great, but it looses its zero after like 50 rounds.

A $50 scope is shit
Pony up for minimum a Leopold vx2 3-9 for such a nice .22

Why don't commercial jet airliners have basic anti-SAM defences?
26 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
Some do.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flight_Guard
The FAA and a few European countries tried to ban it though, over safety concerns.
>>
>>29276908
Some do.

Israeli Airliners do, housed in a body flush pod under the fuselage behind the rear wheel wells.
>>
It seems like a vital element of any airliner these days, the costs of having a flare deployment system for IR missiles is probably outweighed by some muslim dindu on top of the eiffel tower shooting down an airbus

Do you think Slavs as a people should be regarded as a weapon? Their brutality exceeds far beyond that of an Islamic terrorist. Was watching some war footage from Crimea. Just looking into those guys eyes fighting. There is no god or true reason to fight. They're just killers plain and simple. They just don't care, given that circumstance. Slavs would easily conquer Europe in a matter of hours if there was no NATO.

The Bosnian War definitely proved just how evil they can be. There was a book I was reading a while back talking about the war. There was quote in there somewhere not sure what was exactly said. But something about;

>The Imperial Japanese and Satan could not measure the brutality caused by these people.

So /k/, help me, please.

I want a gun. a Pistol. I am stuck between a few.

The FN Five-seveN

The m1911a1

The Browning HP

The USP. 45acp

I want something incredibly personal, and really good for combat. I don't plan on going to war, but I want something that, If I was going to take on a cartel with multiple people attempting my life, I want to be armed.

Tell me what I should do.

I'd tell you to shoot yourself but you're obviously a noguns, nor are you old enough to buy a handgun.

OP Here, Fighting off more than two or three people, it may be unlikely, but it is never bad to be too prepared.

I'm not set on a calibre, because I already know what the calibres of the guns I listed can do.

Hey /k/

I have a Nugget that I've been piecing together over the years with an Archangel stock, a Witt Machine muzzle brake, a Harris SRBM with a Rotapod attatchment, a Brass Stacker scope mount, and a simple sling.

Here's my issue though. I just got a Timney trigger and an altered Weaver bolt for it, but now I'm contemplating selling it to contribute funds towards getting a platform that uses a more common round.

What would /k/ say would be a fair market value for it? I'm also throwing in 2 spam cans of 7.62x54r and (6) 10 round magazines.

Pic related. It's not my rifle, but it's pretty damn close.

About zero.

Nobody's going to buy some mutilated half-gun.

You might get $80 for the stock and a few bucks for the ammo though.

You fucked up.

Hey /k/, got a question for you.
In a gas piston system with a rotating bolt, how does the bolt unlock from the chamber? I know in a DI AR, the gases go inside the bolt and push it slightly forward to relieve a little of the backwards pressure on the bolt so it can unlock, but it appears that in a piston gun (whether or not it's an AR) the piston only provides a backwards push on the BCG, which I would think wouldn't work because it doesn't have that little forward push to release it from the locking lugs. Anyone here that can explain this?

Wondering because I'm working on my own design (idk if I'll ever have the motivation/time/resources to try and make it but I am having fun with designing it alone). I am also wondering if the part of the bolt with the extractor claw can strip a round from a magazine or it something special would have to be done to make that work?

If anyone else has any questions post them here and maybe we can all learn something today.

I don't have an answer to the OP but I do have a question regarding DI versus gas piston: are gas piston guns inherently less accurate or does that only apply to ARs?
>>
Bumping, I'm sure someone here knows the answer.
>>
>>29276328
Depends on design i guess. With di there is a much longer dwell time before the piston in the bcg fires and cycles the action, giving the bullet time ti exit the muzzle before anything happens, not sure how true that is for piston designs.

I beleive the scar and mdr(vaporware till actually released) have sub moa? Accuracy from ss gas piston designs.

Why are Canadians not allowed to conceal carry?

Even more importantly, why are Canadian Forces members in combat arms roles not allowed to conceal carry? We saw two days ago a terrorist walk into the recruitment centre and stabbed two people, knowing he will not be killed himself.

What is the logic behind not letting more people carry? It makes perfect sense to me that a soldier should be allowed to conceal carry at the very least.

Would they carry the hipower? The p226?

US solders can't carry in the recruitment centers either.

uhhh, in a fantastical, hypothetical scenario they could carry star wars blasters for all i care.

It's because liberals are so afraid of guns they're okay with disarming all the responsible citizens if it means temporarily disarming some criminals. That's why.

I wanna buy an AK from online, it says I need to have it shipped to a FFL dealer blah blah,

How does it work?
What do I have to do?

Call local FFL, ask if you can transfer though them. If yes buy gun, send contact info for people you bought it from and the order number/your name to FFL so he can tell them to ship it to him. Call people you bought it from who the FFL is and that he will contact them. Wait for gun.
