Ok so to keep this as troll free as possible here are the "givens"
We are talking about 9mm from a 4.5" barrel with a twist rate of 1 in 16.
Now, lets say you have a 300 dollar gift card to Cabelas. What do you buy? 124gr +P Speer Gold Dot. 124gr +p Federal HST, 147gr Speer Gold Dot, or 147gr Federal HST
Explain your decision. There seems to be far too much "this and that, but look here, and then there" info on the internet. It seems the only common consensus is 115gr 9mm is range ammo tier
Does it penetrate 12" out of your gun?
The answer to your question is yes in all 4 cases.
Biggest factor after that is you putting them where they need to be as quick as you can.
To that end, you should buy the one that's on sale or cheap because that means you practice with your carry load.
I would dodge the +p stuff simply because it's really not a benefit.
Ammoquest does great write ups on those questions
>>29282078
yes they do, but even they stop short of a conclusion.
>>29282055
12" means nothing other than it penetrated and didnt exit the block. What did it expand to? How consistent was that expansion and penetration? etc
124gr does not seem to expand consistently outside +p, that extra 50-100fps seem to matter. 115gr doesnt seem to expand even in +p+. 147gr expands at lower velocity and penetrates deeper in bare gel, but struggles in hard barrier...

[when you've absolutely got to btfo your attacker edition]
I hesitated between posting this here or /asp/, but since this fighting style is in no way a sport, and is only for defense, I decided to put it here.
Any of you guys familiar with Luke Holloway or Raw Combat International? What do you think of him and what he teaches?
He seems to utilize the karambit in alot of his training.

Ibe heard of bad mamajamas, but murrica you took the cake with this shit. How did you not know impure steel would lose its ductility?
enough of them made it to win the war
>>29281038
A fairly rare occurrence.
Better than a country that made tanks with gaps in their armor.
>>29281095
More like shortened it.
What does /k/ think of whited in markings?
>>29281015
I think it looks neat.
>>29281015
looks ok on some firearms but I dont like the color fill jobs people do. looks tacky as fuck
>>29281015
I quite like them
So I spend most of my time in an anti fun college and I want to carry something for self defense. What is /k/'s opinion on pepper spray vs stungun vs taser? I currently carry a conal pattern sabre red but I dont know much about the effectiveness of stunguns and tasers. What does /k/ edc on campus?
pic related, my edc
>>29280907
Stungun is pain compliance, does not disable and you can only use it in melee range, I wouldn't even spend money on one..
Pepper spray and taser do disable the opponent, taser is more effective but has only one shot the you have to reload the thing. Pepper spray is much less effective, but a big can gives you morespace for error and might be effective depending on the subject.
Train and get a taser, it's the most effective way to defend yourself.
>>29280975
how does one exactly train with a taser? I thought once you fired them it was a giant pain in the ass to reload them...but then again I dont know much about them at all.
>>29281028
I mean train in hitting target with taser.
Rounds are fired in particular angle to get the biggest distance possible between the probes, so if you shoot someone that is too far, one of the nails might miss.
And if it does, I hope you trained in changing hose cartridges fast. And if you shoot someone that is too close, you won't get full effect.
Look at some videos of it, and remember that there are training rounds that are less expensive than the real ones. Still fucking expensive as hell, I think...

Realistically, whats the safest and easiest way to hide a firearm in the event of confiscation?
>>29280732
Just hide it anywhere except your home/work?
The hiding part isn't hard.
The "they will keep you in prison until you confess" part is.
>>29280732
PVC pipe
bury it in your yard and claim you sold it
After some life changes, I've become interested in appendix carry, holster suggestions?
I used a VG2 and occasionally use a VG3. 99% of the time I use a greenforce tactical AIWB holster though.

Is he right, /k/?
>>29280404
Yes. Militias formed from conscripted people who are given a rifle and no proper training aren't going to be any use.
That's why having a well regulated (meaning equipped/trained) militia is important
>>29280404
To a degree. Washington was enamored with European warfare of the time. Line formations, close order drills, Etc. Fighting an enemy in this manner doesn't lead to a good impression of the militia.
But that's not how it's supposed to be used.
It's George Washington, of course he's right
It's seems every range I go to in California this happens
>Guy with no bullet button on
>someone shooting 17 rounds from a glock
>ar 15 and ak with 30 round mags
>all while sheriff and off duty cops are shooting and talking with them
Is this common or are we lucky we have base pro gun cops in my area
>>29279320
most likely you have pro-gun LEOs. the further you get away from Los Angeles or San Fran this tends to be the case.
what part of california are you located?
anywhere outside of the big shit cities (SF, LA, SD, and from what ive seen recently Riverside) most people aren't anti gun commie faggots , they generally don't care or are interested in guns
thats not to say theres not anti-gun people outside of the cities, but i really don't run into many
most cops understand those restrictions are bullshit
>>29279320
>not knowing about featureless rifles
>not understanding that using a 17 round mag in a Glock isn't illegal
>what are 10/30 mags?
>fuck cops
You're stupid, that's all.
Milfags of /k/, what do you think of the growing rift between America's troops and its citizens?

I have been waiting for this day for well over 10 years. I finally got a license to purchase a proper semiautomatic rifle!
Now, I need your help.
I need to get this right the first time since changing rifles means applying for a new license. That is why Im going high-end terms of budget. No pussyfooting this time, but nothing crazy either... budget for this build is 2500k€
What I'm looking for:
-Ar platform rifle in 3-gun competition spec.
-Preferably ready to rage package from a "mainstream" manufacturer to ensure availability...

Congrats!
I recommend posting your questing in the AR General thread, where all the AR autists hang out.
As for caliber, stick with .223/5.56x45.
Check out herra arms from germany.
Good ARs
>>29279022
Thanks!
I'll post there if this gets ignored :D
>>29279060
Awesome, thanks! And yeah, this means that all I can buy all guns on the european market so import restrictions do not apply in the same way!
What's your EDC? Pic related, it's mine.

My trusty rail gun, obviously
For the first time in 25 years this is gonna happen.

Are you trying to incur the wrath of the frenchfag?
What gun would this be?
Also, I know he's probably got a vest underneath, but isn't this dangerous as fuck? I would have thought a police force would be more effectively kitted out than this.
>What are off-duty/undercover police
>>29277680
It's an actual raid though, there's no need for undercover.
>>29277693
There might be. Maybe they had to approach the target unnoticed so they dont run away before police get to surround them.
I'm just guessing and talking out of my ass.. I guess its from the recent shooting in belgium but I have no idea what really happened nor do I even care.
