So gun laws in England are pretty much the toughest anywhere (20 years or more) what would you recommend for a Brit who wants to own a firearm?

Move.

To Jersey, North Ireland, or the Isle of Man, aka the least gun grabby parts of the UK.

Or just use your magic European passport to jump ship to a non shitty country or one with really lax gun control or strict but hardly enforced. Which given the fact that you can go to any Commonwealth Country or any European friendly country means you can go anywhere.

>>29293964
get the hell out of mainland blighty if you want good gun laws. now i might be wrong but we have good laws concerning the ownership of demilitarized tanks so you win some, lose some.

Hey /k/

After a decade of being a gun nut and not knowing what I wanted to do in life I have recently been looking into becoming a gunsmith.

I am a mechanically minded person, and have never had trouble taking guns apart and putting them back together. I also have done some noob tier gunsmithing on a couple of guns (I smoothed out the trigger pull on a reproduction Remington 1858 and a tokarev pistol) and have replaced many pairs of springs in multiple guns.

To make it short, I love working with guns, and I think I would love being a gunsmith.

My problem is, Real gunsmithing schools are few and far between with the nearest ones I know of being in North Carolina with Montgomery Community college, and Trinidad state in Colorado.

On top of that, I am Broke, and unemployed.

I saw that the Sonoran Desert Institute is now accepting FASFA, but I read that their degrees were basically a joke and didnt teach you a lot of stuff you needed to know.

Being poor and In Indiana, SDI seemed like a good idea, but im not sure after reading what people were saying about the degree.

>Is SDI any good? even if just as a starting point? my FASFA should cover all of it and I can do it from home.
>Would I be much better off going to Montgomery or Trinidad and taking god only knows how much in student loans to pay off whatever FASFA didn't?
>how Do I apply for Scholarships from the NRA and Brownells (being the two big names I saw offering scholarships)
>how long do you have to live in a state, or what do you have to do to be considered "in state" for tuition? Just looking at Montgomery the price is more than doubled for out of state students.

and lastly, are there any other Gunsmiths by trade on here? how do you like it? do you regret the decision? How is the pay, and how hard is it to find a place to work?

any advice and info would be much appreciated!

Ever since the MBT came about, the old classifications of 'light, medium' and heavy' became no longer needed because the MBT filled all those rolls.

But now, maybe tankettes like the germans have are maybe breaking the monopoly that the MBT has had if other contries adopt this type of light armor.

MBTs did not replace light tanks, though.
>>
>>29293293
I argue they did. Tight tanks may still exist but the MBT can do everything the light tank can do.

But these modern tankettes, they can continue to develop the concept, they can be a huge boon to airborne troops and amphibious troops, if they make that possible.

If I wanted to buy a T-72 would I need to demilitarize it?

I would have to import one, most for sale seem to be from Czech Republic, I know that I need to get a destructive device stamp for the cannon but could I import it fully functional or would it need to be neutered?

Could you even get ammo for the cannon?

The international community is stunned and amused that this war has gone from a flag waving, gift exchange to a full out conflict. The US and the rest of the international community has taken a unified position and have decided to watch this bitch battle unfold."

expensive technology

Company makes cheap nightvision now, but it is literally LITERALLY

Image intensifier tubes vary greatly in image clarity and must be graded like diamonds. In a given production run, the difference in how many you will get that aretop tier vs. cabelas $199 tier is literally logarithmic, and two tubes which just came off of the production line together can have vastly differing grades.

This means that there are logarithmically fewer military grade night vision optics in existence compared to cheap garbage. That fact alone drives up the price.

Also, the exact same resources go into making garbage image intensifier tubes as go into making God tier ones. They don't make a profit selling the scrappy ones so they must make mire of a profit when they sell the great ones.

Anyone own or fire a JR Carbine before? i have been thinking of buying one.

Are there any othere pistol carbines like it that
-take glock mags
-can use most AR-15 furniture
-can change calibers in about 10-20 minutes

any idea if they will ever be able to chamber this in 10mm or anything semi hunting usable

I owned one in .45

It was tons of fun, but got really tiresome to disassemble for cleaning (you have to take the stock and buffer tube off to take the bolt out, thus needing an AR wrench)

They're too expensive for what they are.
