Could you use a miniscule amount of smokeless powder as a substitute charge of black powder? I don't mean is it safe/smart/practical to do so. Is it possible to propel a ball out of a black powder rifle using smokeless as a propellant without blowing up.

I'm researching my first AR-15 now, and have arrived at point of diminishing return. Not in the least because I don't know a zillion things that I need to to make a qualified judgment - and the only way to know them is to get real life experience with one.
That is to say, what I'd like to get now is a quality prebuilt AR-15 that I can just keep shooting and learning - and only then, when I know what I'm doing, I'll go and build one, but keep this one too, and not as an example of "Jesus, that was stupid", but as an example of good forward...
