The shape of that stock hurts me, physically and emotionally.
I've gotten pretty much everything on my backlog, so tell me what you would/are going to buy next.

I actually have a plan, all budgeted out, for purchases not including ammo until the end of the year.
1. Upgrade my ruger 10/22 Boyd stock, sight rail, green mountain barrel. Slap a 3-9x I got laying around, now I can try taking my .22 out past 50 yards
2. Stoeger m3k and extension tube
3. Pig bomber double pouch, dump pouch, and vlecro inner belt for my tyr belt
4. First pistol
5. Zenith zp5 for mp5 clone sbr project
I think I can afford to drop 4k before ammo this year, and this seems the best spending of it.
Is there any .30 caliber (or bigger) round that I can shoot that is cost effective to buy? Other than x39 and x54r. I don't want a nugget, AK, or SKS. Preferably something with more recoil than .223.
>>29727583
30-06 or 308
>>29727583
Get saiga .308
You may not want Slav, but I will recommend Slav.
If 50ยข/round of 7.62 Real Fuckin' NATO is too expensive for you then shut up and get a God damn nugget poorfag
hey /k/ I just got my first gun the other day. I was never taught about guns and gun safety when I was a kid. Was never around them, family never had em. My friends are all into guns and stuff and I'm a liberty lover so I decided it was time to get one.
Got a glock 43. Seemed like a perfect gun to carry, just in case. Only issue is that I'm still feeling a little uneasy by having a loaded gun around me. I know that'll go away over time, but is there any tips or anything you guys can tell me thatll make my transitioning to responsible gun owner from being a gunless noob?
>>29727557
Read the arms code. If you country or state doesn't have one, read new Zealand's and disregard stuff about restrictions and laws.

No modern firearm will go off unless you pull the trigger
in case anyone was wondering, I already have the trigicon night sights, the talon grip, and the taran +1 baseplate

My favorite part of modern American military actions.
Hey /k/, I got a joke for you.
What do you call it when a German shoots 400 Russians?
A decisive Soviet victory.
Three Nazis walk into a BAR...
What do you call it when your country unconditionally surrenders, all the women are raped, and it gets divided in half? German tactical victory.
Ever hear about the KGB magician?

I live in a country where .308 is the largest calibre I'm allowed, and I have a .308. The only ammunition I'm able to buy comprises:
Winchester Sierra Matchking
Winchester Power Max Bonded
Winchester Supreme Ballistic Silver Tip
Remington Core-Lokt
Reloading is not legal in this jurisdiction, and necessary supplies are not available.
I understand the Silver Tip is a high stopping power, short range load. However, anyone approaching my property is definitely a threat even at several kilometres range. Which round is the best choice to engage...

I live in Peru, a country with a tough history of terrorism and strict weapons laws. Indeed, the main threat I'm concerned about is Shining Path guerrillas who might want to bother me, as otherwise I live in a pretty remote spot.
Flash forward, The Trump is president and one of his first orders in office is he removes all issued pistols from every police force in the country.
Instead using the money he has made from being an amazing businessman he writes a blank check to every LEO telling them to buy their own individual pistol of their choice and he will foot the bill.
So tell me /k/ if you were an LEO in Trumptopia, what would you carry to protect the thin blue line?
XM25
sexual assault rifle that fires 18" floppy dildos

Ok so I've been slowly putting together my B.O.B it still has a fair way to go and will probably cost a fair bit. I also want to get a rifle. I was wondering what do you think should take priority the B.O.B or the weapon.
My head I'm leaning B.O.B because you need the ability to survive. But the weapon would offer me defence.
What comes first /k/?

get a fucking .22 rifle. it's cheap and you can carry 1200 rounds of ammo for 10 pounds. .22 out of a rifle will flatline a nigger with a quickness out at 150 yards, and it's easy to shoot. you're mostly going to be shooting varmints for food, and anything too much bigger will ruin the meat.
With things being the way they are, I would go for the rifle before shot gets out of hand. If you avoid overpriced gimmicky bullshit then putting together a B.O.B is pretty easy and consists of shit that's not subject to being banned, restricted or scared into wildy inflated prices.
Nothing in my B.O.B was purchased specifically for the kit, it's mostly shit I already had. I can't really slap together good rifle and a couple hundred rounds of ammo.
The allowed rifle rounds for hunting deer in Ohio are 357 Magnum, 357 Maximum, .38 Special, .375 Super Magnum, .375 Winchester, .38-55, .41 Long Colt, .41 Magnum, .44 Special, .44 Magnum, .444 Marlin, .45 ACP, .45 Colt, .45 Long Colt, .45 Winchester Magnum, .45 Smith & Wesson, .454 Casull, .460 Smith & Wesson, .45-70, .45-90, .45-110, .475 Linebaugh, .50-70, .50-90, .50-100, .50-110 and .500 Smith & Wesson. What does /k/ think would be the best choice for a mix between availability and effectiveness?
>California has better hunting laws than Ohio

Wait, are you fucking serious? What the fuck is this autism? .44 is the only acceptable thing here for deer. Or fuck it, .500 S&W.

In the most recent video of Man at Arms: Reforged they did the Green Destiny sword from Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, which is pretty much just a Chinese Jian. (Video here: http://youtu.be/ObYP1jTJ9MM)
For the sword, they decided to use 1095 and 15n20 for their steels for pattern welding. Obviously, the two steels are used together often because they weld together very easily while at the same time producing a very visible pattern after acid etching. However from what I understand neither steel is a great sword steel; 1095 is too brittle for larger blades because of...

Back in the old days, iron was smelted in a primitive kind of forge called a bloomery; effectively you had a bunch of layered iron ore and coal / charcoal; and over many hours (sometimes days) of forcing air through said bloomery, you'd get a heap of 'sponge iron' at the bottom. This was then worked to make an ingot of iron. Sometimes, you'd get ingots of exceptional quality, which were early steels. Medieval ironworkers knew nothing about alloying,...

Not op, but that was pretty informative.
Even though I knew most of that stuff, it's still nice to hear additional info.
I've seen the bloomery technique in action. Always wanted to try it out for myself. But where the fuck am I going to get raw iron ore?
