So my question is to you /k/ommandos what are the necessities to have attached to your plate carrier. Obviously your gonna have your mag pouches up front but I see allot of set ups and I'm just curious what you guys prefer when it comes to gear placement and equipment.
IFAK is a necessity, but aside from that, unit SOP dictates. Some people would argue that you should have water, but that's subjective, often times carrying water in a bottle in your cargo pocket is easier.
Radios are a big deal, but if you don't have them, there's no need to build your kit around them.
Gloves, lights, knives, chem lights, food, weapon accessories, GPS and navigation aids, notetaking gear, breaching gear, explosives such as flashbangs, thermobarics, defensive grenades and smoke grenades and auxiliary weapons systems such as 40mm launchers are all things that take up space, if you have to carry them out of necessity then obviously you need room for them

Assuming we're talking Cold War here-
It would be something like Red Dawn, and would take an alt-universe USA where they went full detente and never rebuilt militarily post 1980. Meanwhile, the communist revolutions in South America were not thwarted and ended up much more extensive then in our timeline.
Given those conditions, an invasion would have come up from the south via Mexico. It would consist of South American forces with Soviet "advisors", along with crippling nuclear strikes on critical locations in the USA.
But having said all that, if it ever got to that point, the USSR wouldn't bother. They'd have pretty much won without fighting. They could just issue a (private) ultimatum to the US president of the day and watch as America findlandized.

I understand there are many responsible gun owners out there. I consider myself one. But how many else out there are just absolute shit-for-brain losers who have no reason owning a gun, much less carry?
I am 100% for gun ownership, for your own home, hunting, recreational purposes. But, even to that extent, I feel like there needs to be at least basic training (such as gun safety, and the responsibility of owning a gun) and a thorough background check. At no point am I saying limit guns. I am wanting those who will own guns to be well informed and responsible.
Now for carrying, I feel like the bar is set way too low. I can't tell you how many retards I've seen getting their CHL/LTC. In my own class I've had a handful of ladies fucking filled up the whole fucking target sheet and received certifications. They didn't even check. I'm fucking terrified that there are these people out there carrying. I do not trust my life in the hands of these people when it comes down to added adrenaline and stresses in real life situations.
I believe there needs to be more advanced training for those who wants to carry and it should be required. Maybe a full background check and qualification every year/two to make sure you're still qualified to carry. Much like LEOs and other government agencies having to.
I just want people who carry to be more well-trained and responsible.
Is my line of thought wrong? Can we civilly discuss why it is?
