Since the F135 engine is ramping up to full production, do you think it will find it's way into other jets that use much older and less powerful engines?
I am not sure what the F135 is designed for, but I am increasingly impressed by the engineering that goes into a jet engine.

The F135 engine powers the F35.

As far as I can tell, the F35 project is a huge amalgamation of compromise. It was designed to be a jack of all trades and as such a master of none, so I would assume this also applies to its engine. For that reason alone I would say they wouldn't convert other jets for the F135.
However of course it is new tech, and may boast in advantage in that regard.
I suppose there are 2 things to consider, reliability and performance. If a currently installed engine provides both, then it'd be a good idea to stick with it. On top of that, if this was designed to replace say the F18/F16, then surely theres no need to engine swap.

Skinning knives are curved with a hooked blade because that is the shape that works best for skinning things. A tanto is straight without a hooked blade. I'm sure you can draw your own conclusions

Because the people in this board HAVE to respond. It's all attention, and this board is easy to get attention from. There are so many people that have never owned a gun before but are ready like minutemen to defend the one they obsess over and read the same articles on 5 times a day. At the moment, I want a Beretta 92g. I don't really care for the slide mounted safety on the 92fs but I really dig the gun. So I figure the next best thing is the decocker only model. Can you get new 92g's, i read that beretta started making them again but whenever I search, all that comes up are the Wilson combat brigadier 92g's and they are kinda expensive.
Im also itching for a milsurp rifle for some reason and am leaning towards a m48 Mauser.

Well /k/ I'm turning 21 soon, so it's time for me to buy my own handgun.
I've narrowed down my choices to pic related. I live in New Orleans so I'm interested in concealed carry but I also can't carry at school, which is where I am most of the time. My gun will probably live in my car and under my pillow (very frequent robberies in the area I'm moving to).

I'm almost positive that's a break barrel air gun above the probably airsoft G36.

they usually protect the rifle's sights, and are convenient for carrying in a pinch, but often aren't. historically rifles used slings, and prior to that were just carried by the stock. during the early 1900s, protecting rifle sights became a thing, and most developed ears. in the 30's and 40's dedicated handles were popular.
as most modern weapons are derived from rifles 50+ years ago, they maintain certain vestigial qualities.
ostensibly, complacent use of a carry handle on a loaded rifle (and most long arms lack drop safeties) and flagging someone has the possibility of an ND.

Nogun here, I'm going to go shooting guns for the first time in my life (.22-.32 cal pistols, probably) within a week
I know a little bit about guns, due to some research such as: it's a mag, not a clip, don't point it at things you're not willing to destroy, and the basic operations of a firearm.
Do I need some more preparation going into this?
Are there some things I need to know?
