So my Vz 58 has gotten to the point where the rifling is pretty much thoroughly worn. Since I'm replacing the barrel anyway, I was thinking of shortening it to around 12" (300mm to be precise) as I live in glorious Czechia that allows me to carry it. However the muzzle blast and much worse noise is what really makes me unwilling to carry it. Therefore I was thinking I could perhaps neck the 7,62x39 cartridge to a bigger bullet, since I will need to have a barrel custom made anyway, or import .50 beowulf rounds. Would a bigger bore help more powder burn inside the barrel,...

Apparently the Russians have developed a pistol some time ago that is silent without a suppressor. It shoots a special cartridge (SP-4) that pushes a piston when shot, which in return pushes the bullet out. The piston traps the gas inside the cartridge.
Can an American company possibly copy this design? Would it be popular?
The ATF would probably require a tax stamp on each individual bullet.

What does a military POG bring to the table that a civilian couldn't?
We have all dealt with (or heard about) the low quality personnel that make up POG ranks. If they aren't combat arms, why are they in uniform?
