I have this Colt rimless smokeless .32 that has been in my family since my dad's father got it. The thing is, it's got a pretty interesting story behind how he got it, and the details behind the pistol itself.
For starters, the story behind my grandfather's obtaining of the pistol: He worked as a regular office worker in the early 1900's and not much really would happen. One day his coworker had...

Now what makes this pistol so special isn't just the fact that my grandfather got it in an accident, but that the pistol came with- and still currently has- all parts, accessories, documentation, papers, and even the box. That's not all, either. When it was passed down into my hands, I took the liberty to do as much research as I could to find what I could about the pistol. What I found was that this isn't an ordinary Colt .32 rimless, this pistol just so happens to be an original, first generation, 4-digit serial number colt with the original ornate grips and...

That's pretty sweet. You can find type 1s on gunbroker (there are several up right now) but rarely in nice condition. You've still got some of dat fire blue on the trigger, looks like.
I wanted the shorter type 2 barrel when I bought mine.
Either way it's a neat little gun, with cool history in general.
Post those fucked up bubba or dindu guns!! Anything that looks like shit or anything that makes your eyeballs itch!! Fucked up mosins from armslist are welcome as well!!

Well murica is still scared of them so yeah.
Not really. If they fixed their shithole and made their country worth fighting for their troops would have better morale and they would have more money to use in their cold war army.

Do recruiters care if you're 22 and have a liberal arts degree? pls no bully
I have an idea. Instead of the fiddly wires and catapults on aircraft carriers why not install one massive wind tunnel on the deck? You fly into it with some panels up on your plane and the drag slows you down. To leave you just fly the other way with the panels up to get a boost for takeoff. I don't see why this is a bad idea, you can create hurricane force winds in a wind tunnel and hurricane force winds can blow a gliding plane to a standstill.
Energy inefficient, fucks with your aerodynamics and would prevent simultaneous take-offs and landings.
>>29829106
>Energy inefficient
Who cares if it werks? Plenty space for more fuel
>fucks with your aerodynamics
Planes can fly fine in a tailwind, fucking with aerodynamics is good if you are going the other way and trying to slow down.
>prevent simultaneous take-offs and landings.
Make two wind tunnels.
>>29829181
>Plenty space for more fuel
No.
>fucking with aerodynamics is good if you are going the other way and trying to slow down.
No.
>Make two wind tunnels.
So quarter your flights per unit time? No.

It's 1861. War has broken out between the Northern states of the Union and the Southern states of the Confederacy. Both sides call out for volunteers to sign up for the military as soon as possible.
What do you?
Sign up with North? Go fight for the South? Or are you like those dirty Irish immigrants who keep on dodging the draft?
>>29828720
sign with the north
i'm not a racist

Run to California and live in Peace. Barring that, there's also Canada
What's the most modern firearm that could be produced on 1860s machinery and metallurgy or without a serious overhaul of the gun industry of the time?
Alright fellow New Jerseyans of /k/ I need some help
Recently, my dad found his old Red Rider BB gun in the basement, just like pic related, and I would love to go in the backyard and shoot soda cans with it if it weren't for one small thing.
I happen to live in New Jersey, one of only 2 states (other being Rhode Island) to classify BB guns as firearms, meaning all laws that apply to firearms apply to BB guns.
So really I have no idea how to use this in my backyard and buy ammo for it without getting arrested.
Do I need to go into the woods...

>>29828589
Just buy BBs at Walmart and shoot it in your backyard. You don't have shit neighbors do you?
>>29828613
People have been arrested for doing just that, that's why I'm worried.
" As recently as October, a man was arrested in New Jersey for shooting an airsoft gun at a rubber duck for target practice, in his own yard. Idyriss Thomas, 22, was arrested in Glassboro, N.J., after police responded to multiple 911 calls from neighbors who reported seeing a man with a gun. Once police determined the gun was unlicensed, Thomas was taken to jail and charged with unlawful possession of a weapon."

Jesus fuck. South Dakota just decided to piss on everybody huh.
What a bunch of faggots. Somehow I doubt shit like this will move forward. It affects too many big companies, their financial backers and even their own citizens. It would be pretty funny if people just stopped selling to people there though.
