So I had posted this on http://forums.gunboards.com/showthread.php?506129-My-Family-s-1903-Colt-32-History&p=4357345#post4357345
(Pics at site)
I have this Colt rimless smokeless .32 that has been in my family since my dad's father got it. The thing is, it's got a pretty interesting story behind how he got it, and the details behind the pistol itself.

For starters, the story behind my grandfather's obtaining of the pistol: He worked as a regular office worker in the early 1900's and not much really would happen. One day his coworker had gotten a brand new pistol mail ordered to him. He had took the pistol into his office and closed the door to fiddle with it. As my grandfather continued to work he heard a BANG and rushed to his coworker's office to find a bullet hole in the ceiling and a near deaf and frightened employee. He went straight up to my grandfather and said "Here, you can have this! I don't want anything to do with it anymore!" And that is how our family heirloom for three generations was given to us.

Now what makes this pistol so special isn't just the fact that my grandfather got it in an accident, but that the pistol came with- and still currently has- all parts, accessories, documentation, papers, and even the box. That's not all, either. When it was passed down into my hands, I took the liberty to do as much research as I could to find what I could about the pistol. What I found was that this isn't an ordinary Colt .32 rimless, this pistol just so happens to be an original, first generation, 4-digit serial number colt with the original ornate grips and refined grips. I have yet to find any other colt .32 even remotely similar at any gun show, and only one or two at most online. I haven't even seen a first model colt .32 come through Rock Island Auction House's auctions. This was really something for me to learn, and the condition is really something to behold considering it's been around for 116 years. I always make sure now to clean it to the best of my abilities whenever I fire it and I truly am grateful to have the opportunity to have it. I currently have a nice hand made leather holster for it now.

That's pretty sweet. You can find type 1s on gunbroker (there are several up right now) but rarely in nice condition. You've still got some of dat fire blue on the trigger, looks like.

I wanted the shorter type 2 barrel when I bought mine.

Either way it's a neat little gun, with cool history in general.

Not really. If they fixed their shithole and made their country worth fighting for their troops would have better morale and they would have more money to use in their cold war army.

I have an idea. Instead of the fiddly wires and catapults on aircraft carriers why not install one massive wind tunnel on the deck? You fly into it with some panels up on your plane and the drag slows you down. To leave you just fly the other way with the panels up to get a boost for takeoff. I don't see why this is a bad idea, you can create hurricane force winds in a wind tunnel and hurricane force winds can blow a gliding plane to a standstill.

Energy inefficient, fucks with your aerodynamics and would prevent simultaneous take-offs and landings.
>>
>>29829106
>Energy inefficient
Who cares if it werks? Plenty space for more fuel
>fucks with your aerodynamics
Planes can fly fine in a tailwind, fucking with aerodynamics is good if you are going the other way and trying to slow down.
>prevent simultaneous take-offs and landings.
Make two wind tunnels.

Hey /k/ how ya doing. So I need some help, I'm a Pennsylvanian living in California at the moment. Been out here for several months for work and i'll be going home in several months. However me and some of my friends decided we want to go shooting problem is I don't have a gun.

How can I legally acquire a gun in the state of California when I am from Pennsylvania? I have friends here. Could I have him buy the gun and do a private party transaction? Please /k/ i've been looking for help online but the laws here are so fucking confusing.

It's 1861. War has broken out between the Northern states of the Union and the Southern states of the Confederacy. Both sides call out for volunteers to sign up for the military as soon as possible.

What do you?

Sign up with North? Go fight for the South? Or are you like those dirty Irish immigrants who keep on dodging the draft?

Alright fellow New Jerseyans of /k/ I need some help

Recently, my dad found his old Red Rider BB gun in the basement, just like pic related, and I would love to go in the backyard and shoot soda cans with it if it weren't for one small thing.

I happen to live in New Jersey, one of only 2 states (other being Rhode Island) to classify BB guns as firearms, meaning all laws that apply to firearms apply to BB guns.

So really I have no idea how to use this in my backyard and buy ammo for it without getting arrested.

Do I need to go into the woods and be at least 450 away from all buildings to use it?
Do I need to smuggle BB's across the Pennsylvania border to get ammo for it?
Do I need to get a Firearms Identification Card to possess it?
Do I need to register the damn thing?

I know NJ gun laws are beyond fucked and I'm hoping that someone can shed some light on the subject.

People have been arrested for doing just that, that's why I'm worried.

" As recently as October, a man was arrested in New Jersey for shooting an airsoft gun at a rubber duck for target practice, in his own yard. Idyriss Thomas, 22, was arrested in Glassboro, N.J., after police responded to multiple 911 calls from neighbors who reported seeing a man with a gun. Once police determined the gun was unlicensed, Thomas was taken to jail and charged with unlawful possession of a weapon."
