I want to go for concealed defensive pistol. I definitely want to go for a Glock but I don't know which fits best for concealed carry. Is the G19 too big for carrying it on a daily basis? My hands are rather large (I am 1.90m tall) so would a G26 slip around my hand when I am in a stressful situation (e.g. defending my life)?

Get both, thats what I did. But in seriousness, the 19 isn't too big at all to daily carry. I have large hands and the 26 isn't an issue for me. In fact I'm rather partial to shooting my 26 over 19. Then again maybe because I know I keep the 26 on me and the chances of using it are greater.

Got a quick question, /k/:

I have pic related, but I've discovered that none of the stores near where I live sell 9x18 Makarov rounds. I've heard some people say that it can fire .380acp, but I'm unwilling to try unless I know for a fact it can do so safely. What do y'all think? Should I try it, or should I just buy ammo online?

safely and reliably are 2 different things

for instance you can fire 9mm through a 40 and your hands will remain intact

dont be stupid buy whatever caliber is marked on the gun
>>
>>29821401
Don't, just buy ammo online.

You should do that already, buying ammo in stores is shitty.

At any rate, this is the fate you resigned yourself to when you bought slav shit.

Get a Makarov, they said. It will save you money, they said. It's "superior" to a "crappy" polymer 9mm SD9VE which sells for under $300, they said.

I'm sorry, but I can't stop gloating at your poorfag faceplant. Go ahead and try to fire .380 out of it. Just make sure the gun is in a vice, you pull the trigger with a string, and you hide behind a sturdy structure when you pull the trigger.

Sup /k/, i was bored and searched for weapons made in Mexico, they are mostly shitty rip-offs of much better weapons, for example, for me this gun (their god-tier rifle) looks like the aborted fetus of a G36 and a SCAR

HK was about to sue them for stealing the G36C's design but the Mexicans insisted it was a completely different design. They flew in an engineer from HK to Mexico and turns out they weren't lying.

A knife on your belt, I live on the gold coast , knife isn't hidden, I've never been hastled in public

Guys,

This is my first time posting about guns, I usually post about ham radio when I can and if theres a discussion going.

I'm really into history (I even made the mistake of making it one of my degrees in college), but I've never owned guns. I'd like to procure a Civil or Revolutionary war-era barrel-loading weapon. My price is $750 or less, if I have to fix it up I'm just fine with that because it'll let me learn more about the weapon.

Any ideas where I can find one? Anyone have any experiences or stories with these I might want to know?

Pic related, a Springfield 1863, standard issue to the Union Army during the Civil War.

buy a cheap BP .50 rifle, and see how you like how it functions, then, after you see how shit it is, get a real smokeless powder gun.

dont bother trying to 'fix up' civil war era guns, the repro's are shit, and anything you do happen to find that is affordable, doesnt have the parts available to fix, let alone even be able to fire safely.

you want a old-school fun rifle? get a Marlin 60A .22lr from the 70s or 80s, before they came with a gold trigger. Another nice starter gun is a 20ga pump, you can shoot that shit all day and not get a sore shoulder.

Or if you want creme de la creme, get a new benelli nova in 12ga (non-tacticool, no ghostring sights) and a tube extender. Should be about $350 OTD

A. blackpowder is annoying to shoot unless you already know you enjoy it
B. don't destroy an antique fucking faggot. did they teach you nothing?
C. double your money and you can buy a high quality reproduction that I'd be mad jelly of

slightly related I really wish Uberti made a remington revolver rifle with the original 35" barrel. Also that I still owned pic related.

get a uberti or pietta 1858 revolver if you want something civil war esque on your wall. Best revolver design ever.

>>
>>29820930
Doesn't have a proven track record like gold dots or hsts.

Are you planning on shooting people with body armor?
>>
>>29820979
No but if it doesn't over penetrate and it has lower recoil plus it would go through hypothetical body armor it seems absolutely perfect.

Its not even expensive

>the best round for concealed carry is the one YOU feel most comfortable shooting with. As long as you can reliably hit the offenders center off mass, then getting shot is getting shot which is bad no matter what caliber is used. This renders the 9mm vs. .45 argument moot.

>>29820626

So you're saying I can carry some thing that is a 22 short?
>>
>>29820626
It's true most of the time though. Not many people are dedicated enough to keep coming for you after getting hit with even .32. If you got caught fucking a crackhead's wife, then maybe dial it up a notch.

9mm vs .45 is very nearly moot for all contexts except actual warzone combat.

So I'm looking at selling my Mauser (3rd from top, the one with the scope and recoil pad) for $350. It's my "long range" rifle, and If I sell I'll be looking for something to replace that role.

Question is; What gun should I get to fill that role? Ideally at or under $350, and something I'd be able to pick up locally.
37 posts and 5 images submitted.
>>
>>29820605

Don't sell it, fuckstick

You WILL regret it

You will NOT find something better for that price
>>
>>29820628
>>29820629

As much as I'd love to keep it, 8mm Mauser is pretty much the same if not harder to get compared to .30-06, and if I get a rifle in .30-06 I'll have ammo commonality with my 03A3 and the Garand I'll be getting soon

Is there something fundamentally wrong with new rifles?
>>
I don't give a shit about your Mauser sale, but you have a nice ass collection. Wood furniture is my fetish
