Hi /k/. First time poster here with a question. Let me give you the background. I'm moving out of my family home, I'm about to live on my own for the first time in my own apartment. Naturally, I'll be feeling on edge when I live by myself and have thought about protective measures. Problem is, I'm living in the U.K. and as the rest of the world knows, I'm living in a pussy state.
My question is concerning what kind of weapon I could own within legal limits for my own protection, should a burglar or assailant get into my house. I've made a list of what I could possibly use and here's what I'm thinking:
>Pepper spray, Baseball bat, Cricket bat, Chain lock, Golf club, Tire Iron, Hammer, Sledgehammer, Tonfa (Baton) Axe, Machete, Bill Hook, Pocket knife 3'' blade, High-powered BB gun/rifle. Bow, Crossbow.

Im from the uk and some of your ideas are a bit retarded. Air rifles/pistols have a power limit and bb guns arent going to do jack shit. Pepper sprays illegal. And probably carrying any of those out the house will result in pic related.
But inside of the house all the things in the top list except pepper spray and a bb gun are fine. A golf/baseball/cricket bat and a ball shouldnt result in any "WHAT HAV U GOT THIS FOR THEN SUNNY JIM"
Also if you dont have a criminal record you should be able to get a shotgun license easily, but that depends as well on if the landlord of the apartment wants the safe bolted in to your wall

Is the Russian Navy a paper tiger? I counted all the anti ship missiles in their cruisers and destroyers and the US has vastly more defensive missiles than Russia can dish out. The thing that amazes about terrorists and insurgents isn't that they do what they do. It's how bad they are at it. Their greatest mastermind plan was to fly a jet into a building and that was after serveral failed attempts with bombs. I guess they don't have the Internet or a broadly educated population. I live in California where we can only buy handguns that are on our "roster". Ruger pulled themselves off the roster in protest a few years back, making Mk III's pretty much unobtainable.
What are some other good .22lr handguns that would work for helping me relearn my fundamentals?

let's set some limits: we are discussing gripen NG and F-35A specifically, Finland doesn't need STOVL of the B nor the CATOBAR -shit of the C except maybe the arrestor hook just in case, but A has that as well, Finland has a system of using strenghtened strips of highway as back-up bases, I know for a fact that one such strip of highway was strenghtened to be used as a highway base and has a maximum of 2400m of runway & it can't be extended for F-35, is F-35A so much better than Gripen NG that it warrants reducing the number of highway bases from which it can operate 'safely'?

Go with the Gripen. Localised production of arms > ANY tech advantage. Being next to Sweden and not having to suck Lockheeds cock by rebuilding your entire airfleet housing just to use a jet is a massive advantage.
