I agree, I don't know why people like them so much. I hardly consider them much better than hi-points. And the price is true to that analysis. They're the same price as S&W's because the creator doesn't believe civilians should own guns, so the price gets hiked.
As a CAD/CAM Technician, I appreciate the ease of production awarded by the design.
I really, REALLY don't like the ergonomics, though.

That's not why. He got advice early on that people would always respect and pay for quality, that long-term he'd make more money pricing them expensive than if he priced them cheaply.
Initially Glocks were going to be way cheaper, since they only cost like $100 each to produce. Then he got that advice and jacked up his initial MSRP. The advice was right, too.
