Are there any Military or Ex Military pilots here on /k/? I would like to know how you became one, and how you enjoy it. After you take the asvab and score what is required, do you get the option to choose flight school? Or do they just give you a list of things that are available? I feel like this is never clear at all. Also Im half way through college with a 2.7 gpa at the moment in mechanical engineering. Does that give me an edge?

Are you in some form of ROTC? All pilots are officers, so it's either that or OTS after college.
Especially in Air Force ROTC, engineering will get you a technical enrollment, but 2.7 GPA is not competitive, and you need at least 3 years in the program to graduate and commission immediately. Flight school slots are awarded after you receive your enrollment.
Might use this bread as an opportunity to ask a few questions.
How do you turn on an airplane/helicopter? Is it with a key like a car or a bit more complicated than that?
Same question but about tonks and infantry fighting vehicles, other armoured vehicles and so forth, a key or some switch?

Tell me about the Osorio. It was an MBT prototype made in Brazil. The Saudis tested it out in competition with the Abrams, Challenger and Leclerc and it beat them all. Despite this the Saudis bought the Abrams and the Osorio never went into production.

Trials are generally skewed, ranging from reasonably accurate to total bullshit
Abrams was adopted by the Saudis because it proved itself in actual combat.

I'd say trials are more accurate than combat. The others may well have done just as well or better than the Abrams in the same situation. So much depends on crew training, logistics, the enemy. A competition is a level playing field.

The Osorio used a lot of foreign-designed components ; French sights, German powerpack, British running gear, definitely not so Brazilian.
One of my dreams is to acquire demilled receivers, deactivated weapons, and guns that have been turned into "art" like pic related, melt them down, and make new guns out of them. I realize that you need specialized equipment to recycle steel. What would be the best way, if any, to start a small time operation turning scrap into workable sheets and bars?
Better look into a homemade foundry, if those even exist.

what kind of quality would bushmaster be considered? im looking at their 16" heavy barrel dissapator for a m16a1 model 605 variant build im starting are there other barrels that are the same as this one but better quality?
