ok /k/, i just put together my upper and lower today. have a fully assembled lower and upper. i was just messing around today and wracking it a little when all of the sudden it wouldn't rack at all and now when ever i try to use the charging handle, it just completely hangs.
I have made sure it was not the buffer spring because i can depress the spring with now issue when i have the two separated. The main issue i can see is that there is already a weird wear pattern on the charging handle. the little crown on the end of the charging handle is already worn down to...

ill try to post a picture of the charging handle in just a minute. It is a DPMS charging handle that came with the kit. All of the other parts work fine.

I have a question to ask.
If I were to acquire a black powder revolver and load it up and have it ready to fire then put it away in my nightstand loaded but resting on an empty chamber so it won't go off.
Would it corrode and rust due to the fact that it is loaded or would it be safe to store away a loaded black powder revolver for a long time even a few year or so?
I know I can easily just get a regular modern handgun and do the same but what about black powder revolver though?

This has been bothering me all day, when you are out operating with other people and are carrying a pistol as a backup in the even of your rifle jamming, how much ammo do you need in the pistol? Does one really need a 17 round magazine or would one be just as well off with a pistol that uses 8 round magazines, and appropriating the weight saved by carrying less pistol ammunition and a lighter pistol to other shit? Depends on how/why you're operating. I'd probably put a lower limit at a Ruger LC9s with stock magazine (7+1) and a 9rd or three for backup. Preferably, though, it'd be something like a Glock 26 (10+1) and a 17rd magazine for backup.
Ultralight revolvers can work but I'd consider them a last-ditch gun--to take out a single attacker from point-blank range.
