I'm about to crack and get this Urban Go carrier + 2 level III plates from AR 500 for $200 dollary doos. I know it isn't the best but it's a good price for a carrier that I have seen good reviews on and plates that can stop rifle rounds. At it's price I wouldn't feel bad about throwing it in the back of the safe and only taking it out every once in a while (or when needed). Good choice or get something else?

I'm thinking about getting a Mossberg 500, and I have it narrowed down to two:
50411 = 18.5" barrel only
51482 = 18.5" + 28" barrel + chokes, but apparently shitty foregrip
Main use would be home defense & outdoor shooting. I don't know much about shotguns, but I figured the two barrels would do both jobs well.
Which one should I pick?

Makes sense to me. I could either buy the first package + an extra barrel + chokes, OR buy the second package + foregrip & action tube. That's the tough choice.

I've seen various web pages that had tests of flash suppressors for 5.56mm rifles, but are there tests out there or anything else to show whether any of the flash suppressors out there for 7.62x39mm rifles is better or worse than any other?
I'm considering an AK in 7.62x39mm as a general purpose self-defense/home-defense firearm, and possibly for other defensive applications. I know that 7.62x39mm rifles without muzzle devices make truly enormous and bright fireballs, especially with the inexpensive Russian steelcase ammo that most people who rely on this caliber...
