Going to buy my first handgun. I've done a limited amount of research and I've settled on an H&K VP9 or just a Glock 19.
Can anyone point me towards a good link for a comprehensive list of good quality hand guns ranked by price?
I'm just not sure what I want to spend and I'd like to see maybe three or four suggestions for every 100$ bracket (300-400$ range, 400-500$ range, etc.)
Any chance I could get some help with that?

All this being said If you can only want to own one handgun I suggest a 9mm compactish handgun.

All of these are great handguns. With these sized handguns you can carry them, you will print more and it will be bulky/heavy but you can carry them. Yet they are large enough that you can have fun at a range with them and not go home with sore hands.
Smaller gun = easier to conceal but less fun to shoot
Larger gun = harder to conceal but more fun to shoot.
If you could buy two pistols I would suggest a slim 9mm for carry:

>LCP9s
>Shield
And one of the above mid sized pistols for range/nightstand

That's a trick a lot of retailers do. Hike the prices leading up to the holidays and then put them "on sale" for less than that price but still marked up 5-10% more than normal.
Black Friday/Cyber Monday are a con unless you know the normal going rate and can save significantly beyond that.

What would be the US main rifle today if they couldnt fix the shortcomings of the m16 and ditched it? If the m16 just turned out to be another flop, would the US just re-adopt the M14 or would we have continued to hold army trials until a new rifle came along?

I know that most of you have seen the double barrel 1911 by Arsenal Firearms (pictured) but i'm wondering why they haven't made a 9mm or .22lr model. I wouldn't carry a .22 if I had a choice but a double barrel .22? What do you guys think?

Why are there not plates on at least one of the sides to protect officers?
As the design is it can only provide protection while facing towards the enemy, and since the vehichle only drives forwards(/backwards?), it means you have to open yourself up to fire when moving side to side.

Now that SKS's and AK's have respectively gone $400 a piece and $550 a piece at least, on standard market value (ignoring occasional steals), what is the new cheap, semi-auto combat rifle (not shotguns; I know AR-12's go for under $400)? .22lr rifles and pistol-caliber carbines are all cheap, without a doubt, but they're certainly not viable for filling the void left by SKS's and AK's.
