I am from the Netherlands, a country with some of the toughest gun control laws.
I can remember a while ago that a guy found a mint condition MP-40 in his basement. He reported it to the police and the police took it and destroyed it.
I can't own a gun unless I give a valid reason to the police (Like, for hunting.)
Tons of background checks, safety standards , police controls every year and regulations.
All I want is a nice battle rifle from ww2 but I can't.

Hey /k/,
I understand a general rule of thumb is to focus on the front sight.
After my last range trip I realized I focused on the target but next time I'm at the range I'll focus on the front sight and see if there is an improvement in my groups.
What does /k/ do?
Personally, I'm not sure how focusing on the front sight increases accuracy because the target becomes blurry. Please enlighten me.

Front sight focus is everything if you want to shoot fast and accurate.
Do some dry firing a couple of times a week.
The front sight is the important part. That's the part you're lining up with the back sight, and the part you're lining up on the target.
You won't hit anything if your sights aren't aligned and focused right.
You should focus entirely on the front sight, and observe it with the perfect presence of an uncluttered mind as you press the trigger.
You should see your sight lift the moment your handgun fires, and ideally you should see it track all the way up and then back down into the rear sight notch.
This is for slowfire accuracy. There are degrees of sight focus and acceptability when speed is involved as you gain experience, but you should investigate your front sight thoroughly before tackling anything else.

Well, I went to the lgs today, and decided I wanted to buy a .22 lr handgun. I fondled a bunch of them, and ended up really liking the feel of the PPQ 22lr. Now I stripped the gun in the store, and it seemed much better built than the dreaded zamak p22, but I feel like I fucked up bad because it is umarex produced. So /k/ how bad did I fuck up? By the way I paid about $330 after tax and background check.

Don't expect to find any. Somebody used to sell injected polymer grips for them years ago (in most colors you could want) but he stopped suddenly and hasn't been online in quite a while.
Honestly, I've shot with both grips and the factory black plastic ones beat the ever-loving shit out of the wood ones.

1955 Russian sks, few scuffs on the woodwork, had it's first rounds through it today. Shot fairly well, front sight was stiff as a bitch to break loose to adjust though. Took a torch, a c-clamp, wd-40 and needle nose pliers to adjust it fully.
Also, I've never shot corrosive before, until now, so in cleaning it with an SKS what all should I focus on cleaning? Gas piston, barrel and bolt are obvious, as well as the receiver itself, but the trigger group and magazine seemed perfectly clean, as I'd expect but you never know.

The cleaning rod IS short, its not meant to clean the entire barrel, just chamber forward. kinda shitty. You can either buy a long, bore rod, that can take into account the long ass receiver, or you can run hot ass water through the barrel, and pull a bore snake through a couple times, then WD-40 down the barrel, or some sort of oil, doesnt really matter. Wash your bore snake every other cleaning, or you might just end up dragging salt deposits back through your barrel and mucking it up.
