Post the idiotic ideas you have for weapons that you would make if you had either the skill, time or money.
For me I would make a double barreled Sola pistol like those retarded AF2011-a1 pistols. I would call it the Sola
angel because it would kind of look like it had wings when it was firing.

I want to make a HMG with a centrifugal stabilizer
my idea was to have a golf ball in a gas system, so that hot gasses cause it to spin in the system when the gun is fired
I think it would change the recoil characteristics enormously, the gun would "pull" a lot more, and jerk a lot less
I see it as also usefull for weapons with specialized gas systems, like low gravity or underwater
The most compact shoulder-able rifle possible. I mean the smallest thing you can physically shoulder and hold with both hands. The ergonomics would have to be like this pic. Right hand on the angled grip, left hand on the horizontal grip. The grip has to be angled like that so that you're not forcing your wrist to turn. It'd be like holding a megaphone.
You might need a suppressor or face shield if it's in anything bigger than pistol caliber.
What's the best pistol I can get for going shooting at the range for ~$1000? I already have carry and self defense guns, so those aspects are irrelevant. I also already have a 1911. I've been looking at getting pic related, but I want to know if there's better options.

bought this off a friend for $600, then upgraded the shit out of it, still under 1k into it thought since I did all the gun-smithing myself. fantastic shooter, I highly recommend it if you want something a little different then what everyone else is bringing to the range.

Is there anything better than the Leatherman Wave in the under 100 bucks range for EDC?
No, I love my wave. Been using it EDC for years. got it in high school(went to tech school because I can't math) I took electrical and abused it every day, stripping wire constantly, emergency hammer when need be. Then off into the work force. Never disappoints Nd I always recommend the wave.

Hey /k/ I'm looking to get a handgun for a lefty and I'll I'm finding online is semi-ambi guns where you can switch the mag release/safety. I'd like to find one with those features that also has the slide catch on the right side. Are there any manufacturers that do that?

The FNS has an ambi magazine release, not sure about slide stop.
Most new HK's are all ambi with mag release and slide release. Walther PPQ M1 has the paddle release for ambiness

What is the life of a Surface Warfare Officer in the Navy like? Is it incredibly competitive and difficult to become one? I am currently a masters student at a major American university studying international relations and can speak both Russian and Persian languages. I know a little while back, the Taliban took control of some city but they didn't hold onto it very long. Something like 2 or 3 days I believe until it was retaken by the Army.

I don't see why the US is allies with Pakistan if they're factually proven to be sheltering, funding and training the Afghan Taliban.

India was pretty shitty during the Cold War and wouldn't pick a side. Plus the taliban was our friends in the 1980's and paki ports were a good way to get guns to them. Also good to support a regional power that would back us up against Iran.

I've shot a number of guns before, mostly different calibers of pistols, but I've been very interested in bows for a long time now, and I'm planning on getting one within the next 2 or 3 months. However, I've never shot one, or even seen someone shoot one (in person).
Where do I begin? What should I look for in a bow and training as a complete beginner?
What kind of bow we talking here op?
Start off with a recurve bow. Get a half dozen arrows, a finger tab, and a bale of hay to shoot in the back yard
Learn with recurve
then ask your Local Pro Archery Shop about getting a Compound bow. That is something that absolutely has to be sized to fit you.
in my experience mathews is a fucking great bow company. bear archery makes good bows too.
