What are some things you do when shooting with friends? Do you cover safety at the range or beforehand? And how do you handle ammo costs?
Taking a no-guns (as in doesn't own, never shot.) to the range Monday, not sure how to approach this.

At the risk of sounding like a douche, I have always given a basic safety brief. Even when out innawoods camping. Stuff like which area is safe direction, ammo loading point, eyes and ear safety, rules on muzzle awareness, arc of fire,where the med-kit is, what is and is not a target and stuff.
Never had any non-gunz challenge or gripe about it. Most in fact seem pretty ok with it.
This is how I won over a very non-gunz cousin (super anti gun) when he finally came innawoods camping. He thought that we would be full retard drunk and blasting the fuck out of everything. (... although the drunk bit did happen later)

Depends on local ordinance in US. Your homeowners association could have a problem with it. You could also be held liable for someone cutting themselves on it.

What's /k/'s favorite innawoods knife?
I picked up an ESEE 6 a few weeks ago and I finally got a chance to use it. Other than a few fine cuts for tenderloins and the back strap, it wasn't too much knife to clean a deer.
I also value the ability to baton fire wood, as rarely as I may need to. It's nice to have the option.

Girlfriend is the manager of a clothing store. Yesterday at 6pm, a man comes up to her, says he loves her and will buy anything for her. She alerted security and he was escorted off of the property. Last night at 10:30, while walking to her car, security saw the same guy coming to her car just as she was driving off. Luckily she was econds ahead of him and he didn't make it in time. Today, he was spotted again lurking about. She is completely untrained with firearms and I've already looked into getting her into classes soon, but that doesn't take care of the apparent threat that she's facing right now. I'm kind of up in the air for what we should do right now. Taser, pepper spray, security escorts, etc obviously but for someone facing an immediate threat right now, I'm kind of at a loss for what to do... Thoughts? The fact that he waited 4.5 hours in the cold for her scares the shit out of me...
