so since the start of the Afghan and Iraq wars in 2002/2003, the US forces have started going toward lighter weight, more practical uniforms, rifles, equipment, etc., emphasizing CAS in airpower, more useful camouflages. all of this has been driven by operational experiences.
what have the Russians learned and how have they modernized their forces in response to their post-Cold war experiences? Chechnya, Georgia, Ukraine, etc.

Since Chechnya, they've begun moving away from low profile tanks designed to charge the Fulda Gap to larger tanks with more armor and better turret elevation. Also moving to more heavily armored APCs/IFVs since BTRs and BMPs get chewed up by HMGs/RPGs which are widespread in modern warfare.
Drones have become very important for artillery spotting and correction. Entire Ukrainian armored divisions have disappeared in a matter of minutes thanks to the Drone + MLRS combination.
Infantry wise, soldiers are starting to get better gear inspired by western stuff....

I'm old enough to have seen Soviet trained troops and militia in action, and did some relatively basic observation of Eastern Bloc troops (the majority of whom were Soviet) in the early 70s. I am by no means an expert but I do have age on my side.
They've completely abandoned the concept of first class, second class, third class formations. Their doctrine has become a lot more flexible, away from the set piece and toward smaller formations carrying out prolonged operations. Hey /k/, I recently turned 18 and im thinking about a rifle to buy that will be both fun to shoot and good to hunt with, also not too expensive. Im thinking about buying an Ishapore since ammo is readily available and I can get one for less than 300 dollars. Any thoughts or advice for a first gun purchase?
Mosin Nagant, Ishapores, or just get a modern bolt action rifle like a Ruger American, Tikka, or Savage Axis.

I recently bought a savage axis 2 bout 350 after rebates and stuff comes with a weaver optic. You'll have to change that out to go hunting but all around not bad gun. Wish I would have spent some extra money to get the trophy hunter with the jade bolt or whatever. But I absolutely love dat accutrigger.

However, no websites I've found ship internationally.

You're not going to find any legitimate business in the United States to ship you P90/PS90 magazines. They are an ITAR controlled item, and shipping them out of country is a crime.
I believe there are a few PS90s in Canada, so by extension there some PS90 magazines there. They would be the 10 round version though. Luckily the only thing that differentiates a 50 rounder from a 30 rounder is mag block that can be cut off. For a 10 round version, you'd need to cut off the mag block from the base plate and find a 50 round spring.

I got this Russian AK 47 sling for christmas by a friend of mine. but it is packed with grease, oil and dirt. What do you guys use to clean it without harming the sling too much with rough chemicals?
i ran my yugo sling threw the washer and dry and it came out just fine maybe spray some stain remover on it before washing it if you can.

Soup, so as i was cleaning my muzzle loader the ram rod became lodged in the barrel. Attempting to remove the ram rod separated the head from the actual rod. Now i have a nice cup shaped chunk of metal in the barrel. How can i get this nigger out? Because it's a muzzleloader the opposite end of the barrel is welded shut.
