I've been looking to trade in one of my AR's for an AK so I reached out on Armslist and got a few replies. Mostly all WASR (except a guy trying to trade me a 223 Wylde AR pistol). What do, /k/omerades?

Will consider it, what's a good base price for a pretty standard AR? I got this as a gift from a buddy and all I know is that it's Aero Precision, multi cal, 1:7 twist, threaded FN barrel, upgraded trigger, bcm charging handle.
It runs flawlessly.

Alright /k/, Mythbusters was playing on my TV in the background. Took a glance and holy fuck. I had to rewind to check and see if I wasn't dreaming.
So, some information before we get to this... thing. In this episode they were testing the myth that in WWII, Japs were slicing hot machine gun barrels in half with their swords. They then went into an animation to show how a barrel can get hot from firing. Alright, basic info for anyone with some common sense, but whatever. So they show a graphic of a bolt-action firing a round.

So for Christmas my Grandpa (Grandma's husband, not blood) gave out a bunch of these Henry .22's to the men in the family. It was a gun or money, and even though I'm poor...I took the gun.
So no big deal, except he kept talking about how they're "100 year old guns", and "collector items". All the idiots on his side of the family just bought into it, and were talking about how they didn't know if they even wanted to shoot it cause its so valuable.
Now, I didn't say anything because dude is half senile, and I didn't want to shatter his reality, but where the hell did he even get the idea they were so valuable? It says right on the box Condition: New.
He got ten of the things, all NIB at a local outdoors store, and I'm wondering if they didn't feed him a line of bullshit to sell some guns.
Should I have said something? I almost feel bad, but they've got plenty of money to waste on dumb decisions. In any case I got a free Henry, and decided to give it to my 5yo for his first gun.

they meant the design goes back 100 years, which it does, and probably obscured the truth when he misconstrued what they meant. but damn, 10 of them? a good $2000-3000 right there. They where originally trained to do low level bombing in Europe during the cold war.
After that ended tactics changed to mostly medium level bombing to avoid ground based low tech AA (23mm guns and MANPADS) in the middle east.
