I know some guys who went there for some 5 day classes, the loved it. They raved about the shoot house.
I went to High risk Warrants/Hostage Rescue/Extreme Officer Survival -all for LE, around 2000, when it was Blackwater.
The Facilities were freaking awesome, the staff was great, -very professional and knowledgeable. All the instructors in my Extreme Officer Survival class had been in multiple shootouts. The other classes were taught by LAPD SWAT. They fly their instructors in from wherever for the classes. They had multiple live fire shoothouses with moveable rooms, a Hogans alley, and tons of different ranges. Steel, Night Fire, 1,000 meter...when I left they were building...

So I've been a private security guard for about a year now, I started off with Securitas and now I'm with smaller local family owned company that allows me to wear body armor, bloused boots, fully armed duty belt (baton, MK4 OC spray, pistol, and knife). I do mostly on site, started doing driving patrols. Fuck no one told me about kicking out homeless people of the property site.
I feel sorry for them, but I got a job to do.
I'm doing this because I know I have some medical issues that would DQ me for military enlistment and applying with any LEO agency....

The only military personnel who have experience in a wife variety of firearms (enough to offer actual opinions) are SOF vets. Everyone else is a fat fuck talking out of their ass.
If someone drops the fact that they were in the military into random conversations, ignore them. It means they want something from you.
Vets shouldn't be seen or heard.
Uhh, most military guys who aren't dumbass POGs or in the AF have a hell of a lot of experience with AR-15 type platforms and can probably manipulate that weapon far better than a novice twenty something libtarded bench shooter who babies his rifle

I used to believe all the M14/M1A mystique, and how it is pretty much as American as you can get.
But now reading more about it e.g. out of the box accuracy, weight, cost of ammo I'm not sure if I should get it instead of an AR.
What do you guys think? The M1A in question will be a Norinco M305.
It all comes down to why you want it.
If it's for a range queen/looks/impractical reasons, go right ahead. Buy it, you'll love it.
If it's for collection, be sure to get a mostly US GI one, the new models will not appreciate.
If it's for practical use/shtf planning/etc, you will be better served with something else.
