A friend of mine is looking for books and/or articles about light infantry units. The stuff he is interested in particular is their general purpose in strategic meaning. So not realy specific tactics but their role to play in a whole battle group.
Also feel free to consider this a general light infantry thread
some pics to get this thread going
Texan here, traveling to east coast, passing through NJ and NY.
I keep a handgun in my car.
Should I leave it at home?
Either I risk getting mugged by dindus or I risk getting raped by NJ police, neither are appealing.
>>28394539
Leave it at home. As long as you aren't a complete retard, you won't get mugged. But it's a very likely chance you will get pulled over.

NJ and NY friendly regarding switchblades?
>>28394539
police from both states would be delighted to arrest you
What's /k/'s thoughts on the new HMG STG 44 replica? Think I'm gonna get one in 7.62x39.

Just get 4 aks for that price faggot.
>>28394281
Looks cool as shit and it's a relatively cheap. Buy it and rock on.
>>28394281
That's about the cost of a SCAR or Tavor, right? I'd definitely get one of these instead except I live in a communist state. No ebul pistol grips or extendo clippazines for me.
I am looking to add a pump shotgun to the collection and all my research has shown me is that for some reason people don't like new Remington shotguns. What is the best pump shotgun for the money? It doesn't have to be the best shotgun ever made, just the best quality at a low price point.

So just got finished building my first AR. Currently running a YHM hooded front sight and a magpul MBUS rear sight. I have discovered that the sight picture is FUCKING MASSIVE. Looking for a low magnification optic to use past 100yds that wont cost me more than the rifle

You have good taste, built this one last year.
Put a cheap barska on mind, but I don't plan on shoot beyond 100yrds with this setup
Anyone here have experience building a gun from a parts kit? I'd like to start learning some home gunsmithing, and I figured the best way would be making a semiauto out of a demilled Uzi or Vz subgun. Any suggestions?
Also does anyone stateside have any more Mg42/Mg3 parts kits?
bump, sounds fun
>>28406001
I built a 1911 from a parts kit for $350. Sold it for $500. Didn't even eject right.

The Mythbusters busted the myth that obstructing the barrel of a shotgun would cause it to blow up in the user's face. The most they could get it to do was to shred the barrel after welding the ends closed. Are there any instances that would cause the gun to explode?
Pic related.
Demolition ranch did an episode where they fired a shotgun partially submerged into the water. barrel went full fucking banana peel. Seen similar pics out of dipshits putting smokeless in black powder guns, or with hunting rifles that have a blockage in the barrel.

Is this Kevlar? No identifying marks. Even if it was real, is it worth keeping g? Likely over ten years old. Belonged to a now deceased officer.
>>28394137
Another pic. Close up of the material.
>>28394137
>>28394147
Can you check the insides? Otherwise we will never be sure.
Kevlar with time, heavy usage or bad storage will degrade.
>>28394137
Also pics of the rest of his old gear. Not sure what to do with it really. Thinking about getting a booth at the next gun show, but I don't know if it's even worth it. Tons of leather holsters and a old milsurp items.

I knew the risk of buying cheap Chinese shit, but I figured $10 for 20 mosin stripper clips wouldn't be that big of a loss. But I can't get ANY of them to work right. After putting about one thousand pounds of pressure on it, the rounds will finally slide in, but even then I can only get the first three in. The last two just stick. Anybody know how to alter these to fit and work right? And yes, I know I'm putting them in right. They're just cheap things.
Grab the top round under the bullet and push it down from near the rim with your thumb. Google it for videos.

YouTube is gay, but it can be helpful.
Go look it up. I got the same ones as the image and mine work flawlessly

Would a former Maginot Line bunker be a good SHTF shelter? Looks pretty solid to me.
> Didn't hold of the Germans for even a month
> Smells of stale baguette and French urine
Your coffin, m8
>>28393423
The best SHTF shelters are concealed hideouts. Not fortified overt bunkers.
>>28393423
>>28393475
Those Maginot Line bunkers are supposed to be like icebergs. 85%+ underground. If you conceal the above-ground portion, you might have a pretty decent setup. If the below-ground portion has been well maintained over the years.
New gunfag here. I'm looking to put together the least expensive rifle/optic package in a .308 bolt-action for hunting. Inexpensive but not shoddy and cheap, I'd like it to last a few years, and would appreciate your expert opinions.
