I really like butter chicken, daal, papri chat, vegetable pakoras and samosas. However I am extremely picky about where I eat Indian food. A lot of the kitchens are dirty and chefs lack hygiene. I always feel like shit after it and get liquid brown tsunami out my ass unless I go to certain more expensive/better quality Indian restaurants.
>>
My opinion is that as good as it tastes, it doesn't look very good, so doesn't do well on an image board. It's a bunch of bowls of slop with different spice blends, so without being able to taste (or at least smell) it, it just looks like bowls of slop.

I also don't like when they leave whole spices in the dish that aren't meant to be eaten. In first world countries we've engineered our fruit not to have seeds anymore, why can't India use cheesecloth baggies or something so that I'm not biting down on a whole cardamom pod or a fucking clove every other bite?
>>
>>7828063

Because the food tastes better when the spices are whole/original.

>>seedless fruit
Yeah, and it tastes nowhere near as good as the seeded varieties.

It's a question of compromise: do you want to compromise flavor for convenience?

How does /ck/ like their grilled cheese? What kind of cheese and bread do you use?

A young cheddar and smoked Gouda, either on seeded rye, a hearty wheat, or homemade sourdough, toasted in an even layer of either butter or bacon fat.

If you're going to add something like tuna salad to make it a melt, a thick slice of ripe tomato is non-optional.

>If you're going to add something like tuna salad to make it a melt, a thick slice of ripe tomato is non-optional.
abso-fucking-loutely not, Tuna melts should go pure. Fuck tomatoes on Tuna melts and fuck putting celery in the tuna too. Grapes, pickles and hard boiled eggs are the only acceptable thing to put in a tuna melt.

When's the last time you had a steak?

Post your favorite vegan convenience foods.

I'm kind of an expert on vegan convenience foods since I've been a vegan for 6 years and don't cook very often. But I still learn about new surprisingly vegan foods. Like I just learned a bunch of dippin' dots flavors are vegan and I had been depriving myself of them all these years just because I wasn't sure. " liberty ice, rainbow ice, watermelon ice, sour blue razz, strawberry sorbet (not the other sherbets, and not to be confused with the regular strawberry ice cream) and espresso dots are the vegan flavours, as per listed on their website."

Other new ones I found out about but are meh IMO: Burger King French toast sticks, some kind of dessert thing from KFC I don't even remember because I'll never be going there anyway.

Some of my favorites off the top of my head: Primal Strips, Oreos, Target brand chewy chocolate chip cookies (they're not that great honestly but they're cheap and satisfy my sweet tooth), CVS mini chocolate chip cookies, Lenny and Larry's vegan protein cookies (especially the birthday cake flavor); Taco Bell chalupa with beans instead of meat, side of red sauce, and no cheese or sour cream; black pepper and olive oil Triscuits, Amy's gluten free dairy free bean and rice burritos, Trader Joe's Japanese style fried rice.

Also, holy shit what's with the crappy processed food? I'm a "meat eater" and my diet is infinitely healthier than yours.
>>

In the UK Oreos aren't vegan. In the U.S. they are. I'm from the U.S. Sorry for the confusion.

And this thread is about convenience foods. I mean I could list a ton of fruits and raw veggies and nuts but I'm assuming you guys already know about those.
>>
I love Amy's canned soups. Most are really low in salt too, which is nice. And they all have pull tops, which is also great because I hate opening cans.

>>7815342
>Burger King French toast sticks

You wouldn't think that would be vegan. Then again, I guess fast food places try to minimize costs wherever possible. I wonder where the egg flavour comes from, if it's there at all. Cause I've actually been kind of missing French toast.

If having a job is functioning then I guess I'm functioning. But I'm sure I'm developing ascites due to cirrhosis or pancreatic problems. There is a constant dull ache on my right side with occasional jolts of sharp pain and I feel bloated like I have 20 pounds of farts in my stomach. I was hoping to just choke on vomit in my sleep or have a stroke from DT's

this is shaping up to be a pretty bad way to die, but I'm excited for it to be over

Great value and amazing quality.

The downside? Limited range.

Andrew Zimmern is a cool, down to earth, personable guy

Anthony Bourdain is an arrogant, elitist prick

I drink lots of vodka. That cleans out my system, and even cleans my teeth (I haven’t brushed in years, and haven’t had a cavity since).

I also eat a liverwurst sandwich pretty much every day – to counterbalance the effects the vodka has on my liver. I make my sandwiches on seeded rye (because it’s the healthiest bread), with mayo (because eggs are the best protein; I use kewpie, because the msg makes it taste better), coarse mustard (good for the white blood cells), zucchini pickles (because they taste good), and a bunch of baby spinach (just for filler; it could honestly be left out).

I also eat a lot of canned fish (mostly sardines, but also the occasional fancy smoked oysters) on saltines. They give you all your essential amino acids, and provide a nice opportunity to try out various hot sauces, which are generally very low in calories, while high in flavor and immensely prodigious to healthiness.

Aside from that, I drink large amounts of water (anywhere between ice-cold to slightly chilled) every day, always through a straw, and sometimes with a lemon wedge.

To each their own, I say, but I’m just shy of 30 and am doing better than most of you.

made me laugh

Burger King looks to bring some deep-fried cheesy goodness with the introduction of new Mac n' Cheetos.

The new, limited-time side features large Cheetos Puff-shaped sticks of battered and deep-fried macaroni and cheese dusted with cheddar cheese powder in true Cheetos fashion.

I'm having a couple of friends over. Two of them are vegan. I'm not. I'm also not very creative. I'd be very thankful for an easy to prepare vegan recipe to cook for us all. I can't get my hands on any fancy meat-substitutes or US sauces, seeing I live in a small town in Europe. I also don't want to spend hours in the kitchen. Your help is very appreciated.
