Kind of.
It innovates on turn based rpg, which is nice and golden sun didn't. However, it has an interesting story with interesting lore hidden behind a bunch of lackluster characters and mediocre writing, especially the one in OP.
I mean, you have to understand that the main characters are boring as fuck and that only the first half of the game is interesting. Infact the interest dwindles around the time you get to the fire crystal continent and it goes from great to meh.
Theres a bunch of lore and interesting facts about the villains in the repeat chapters but you have to actually do the repeat sidequests and read the journals to get it.

It has a free demo. I wouldn't say that the demo is a strong part of the game, but it should be enough to tell you if it's worth parting with ten bucks over.
You would then have to replay the demo section, though, so if you wanna skip that I'd say yes, it is worth $10, give it a shot.
