What JRPG has the best TURN BASED COMBAT? Is it pic related? Is it something else? What's the most fun TURN BASED game you've ever played? What TURN BASED COMBAT has the most depth?

I liked how Chrono Trigger had combat that's right there, not "touch enemy, flash into battle stage". Also how you can do team attacks.
But I really like Dragon Quest.
Undertale.
I'm just kind of wondering if there have been any JRPGs or SRPGs (or any other similar turn-based Japanese RPGs) that have challenged the formula this generation
Every SRPG I see is the same Final Fantasy Tactics and Disgaea derivative. Grid-based movement, bonus damage from behind, gang up on enemies for an advantage, little to no actual STRATEGY involved.
And as far as regular JRPGs go, I haven't seen anything that challenges the formula since maybe Eternal Sonata. We regularly get new Final Fantasy titles and remakes or Shin Megami Tensei games, but they're hardly remarkable for their genre and only stand out as the lowest common denominators.
I know developers tend to want to play it safe, but have there been any gems in the past year or two that try to be more than their progenitors?

Or am I just not getting replies because I'm not trolling?

SRPGs are kind of a oxymoron, the very definition of an RPG where you gain experience and increase your skills negates the strategy aspect.
And I don't mean in a "omg I feel so bad" terrible, I mean a "wow, this is not fun at all" terrible. The game literally becomes a walking simulator because the puzzles are already done for you, so there's absolutely nothing else to do in the overworld. I get that the world is supposed to feel lifeless because of my actions, but that doesn't really make up for bland world design.
And in order to get the ACTUAL genocide ending, you need to kill absolutely every single enemy in each area. This is made especially tedious by the decreasing encounter chance as you kill more enemies (again, I understand that's supposed to represent your genocidal actions, but that doesn't excuse the tedium.)
And the best part? There's only two actual boss fights in this route. Every other "boss" is immediately one-shotted by you upon encounter. Gee, what fun.
I get what the game is saying: Genocide is bad and you should feel bad. But damn, that was such a forgettable gameplay experience. At least let me have fun being Hitler, Toby.
The pacifist run is noticeably better, but not to the extent where I think its deserving of all the damn cock-sucking the game receives on a daily basis.

hey guys i just got done playing monster hunter 4 ultimate and i gotta say i fucking loved it, the tutorial your taking down this big ass sand demon whale and not only that, the graphics are really good and dont forget about the monster designs and the scenery and i also loved all the armor sets, the weapons and the designs. the only downfall of the game is that the text room in the online hall should be a little bit bigger because we could only say one line before we would run out of characters, i know im ranting alot about this but come on this is a really recommended game and i hope you enjoy it as much as me

Honestly better off saving your money and getting a 980 and or getting a r9 390.
Also have to ask yourself if you have the motherboard to make proper use of it and it has a PCI-E 3.0 slot.
