So many of you have been wondering what exactly "A New Generation Begins" is, but I haven't seen anyone come close. What it refers to is the age of content-locked Zelda games coming to an end. From now on, NO two players will ever have the same experience. This is because in Zelda U, the content of dungeons is generated by what you do in or outside the game.
Basically you have an overworld you will forced to change as a consequence of your choices. This will be your "Main World" but in addition there'll be two more vital worlds: A "Sacred World" which is an alteration to your liking that has no reverse causal relation to your world (meaning one will be generated for you based on your world + random factors, if you choose not to make one). This world is what players online will see when you tag them and they enter a Sacred Portal. The second is known as the Purgatory Realm, which is a collage of other people's worlds that change depending on whose you enter it from. This will have some minor connection to the Main World (below).
There will be an indeterminate number of these portals (up to 10) in the game, depending on your actions in the main story. So you will be interacting with these worlds that will form your "dungeons" i.e. Purgatory.
Imagine Lake Hylia. In one player's world, it could be a dry lake bed, a geyser spring, or frozen plain. Your progression will vary on whose world hides the item you need, and you will need to figure that out based on hints in the Main World. The game WILL feature an item shop like ALBW, but only to borrow items temporarily you need in case the players put you in a game-ending situation (say you need the Fire Arrows, but need the Ice Arrows to get them which requires the Fire Arrows). Bosses will be custom-tailored and if online, controlled by players, something that Nintendo has wanted to do since Minish Cap.
This is what Aonuma means by "your actions will affect the world," and putting a new spin on overworld design.

Wow, this is shit, and OP is still a fag.

What
>What does this have to do with the girl wanting to be the hero?
It doesn't. It's a way of identifying that this is a multiplayer experience and that this is no longer your dad or granddad's Zelda. It also drives home the point of how the dungeons will vary by generation as lower age groups will of course have much less intricate or complex dungeons.
>Also what is Zelda U's title?
Zelda: Unicorn's Throne
It's a reference to the stonehenge seen in The Wind Waker and the World Atlas of Hyrule. This game will address what it's about, and where the Gossip Stones come from through the Sheikah book Link carries that serves as his treasure map. It's also about how he gets Epona (the horse he's on isn't Epona) and the special arrowhead he has in the trailer that freezes water (you use it so you can cross bodies of water but only on Epona).
Does anyone else feel like they're getting bored of modern games? I've been reading all these GOTY lists but have barely played anything that came out this year.
I was thinking about it, and I'm pretty sure my favorite game from the last few years is Shovel Knight.
It certainly says something about my taste that my favorite game from the 2010s is intended to emulate games from the 80's.
Do you think I could beat that girl at smash

Are we getting old Anon bro? I feel the same way.

Gentlemen, how do we fix the Metroid series?
Two words:
Metroid Musou.

You can't.
Metroid had it's chance.

Are used games worse than piracy?
Piracy
>consumer downloads game for free
>nobody profits monetarily except maybe ads on torrent sites, although this can be prevented
>game developer is not necessarily denied a sale in all cases since some people wouldn't buy the game regardless of price
>no physical copy is lost
Used games
>original consumer recoups some losses by selling game
>game retailer profits
>new consumer buys game for less than market price, and almost certainly denies a sale since they would have probably bought it.
>Physical copy is transferred, meaning company moves less product overall which can have an effect on logistics/sales to retailers
Depends on your priorities.
I think most used game sellers are absolute scum tier, the organized ones anyway. The mom and pop shops are alright.
I wouldn't mind companies cutting out used games as long as they still offered physical media directly from an online store.
Gamestop is just hardcore cancer is basically what I'm saying. Wouldn't mind if they went tits up.
The prospect of being able to return a game for some in-store credit after you've finished it may make some people more likely to buy games that they wouldn't otherwise.
>>321898534
>some in-store credit
Steam might be forced to do this by European law soon.
