Never played a single Final Fantasy Game. In 2016 I'm going to try to play through and finish all the mainline games and their sequels minus the online ones in American release order. How far into it before I kill myself?
Also I wouldn't call RPG's my favorite genre so I thought about maybe throwing in spin offs to keep it fresh, if anyone can help me point out the good ones.

You could save yourself some pain and just play the odd numbered games. 6 and 10 are the only even numbered games I'd recommend outside of that sequence. If you really want, you could start at 5 just to skip the more archaic ones, though FF1 is still a pretty solid game.

I should also add that you can ignore the FF13 games, and the FF fanbase is divided on 12 due to it playing differently than the rest of the games, but it's not necessarily a bad game.

Explain stealth games to me
Every fucking stealth game, there's "shadows" you hide in that are not dark at all, but as soon as you step on them you're fucking invisible. Together with that, all enemies have retardedly predictable patrols and NEVER look around, their cone of vision NEVER changes from the front of their body.
There's never any actual darkness.
The ONLY games where stealth didn't feel fucking retarded are Riddick games and Crysis (which has literal invisibility, but you still feel more challenged than step-in-black games). Maybe commandos as well.
And none of these are "stealth" games.

Quite frankly I think it's too hard for what I intend. I wanted to do a Shmup level for every theme, but I have never ever fucking EVER liked the Ghost House theme. But it's there, and I wanted to stay within the confines of said theme. Simply put, there's too much dodging, not enough shooting shit. But that's just how I feel.
Is it fine as is, and if not, is it possible to make it a good stage without making changes to the level theme?
Toad Road is a game I am making that will focus on being mostly easy levels but very speedrun friendly.
In the comments I give a time to beat if you want to. There's also a challenge coin in each level, which is the flying coin you might find hiding in a block.

It was OK.
Repetition is the main problem. I like killing the dry bones by breaking the floor but for every single obstacle that gets old quite fast. If it was a more traditional shmup level that would make a neat challenge towards the end.
I get you were going for an undead spooky motif, just my opinion on the gameplay of i. Also as a boo house I thought it could use more alternate path ways like doors or warp pipes.
