This is by far the biggest problem with "muh Kickstarter" indie shitter games. AAA studios are cancer in their own form but they at least have people with the experience and know how in managing a team and a project so that it can be finished in a timely manner. Kickstart shitters always get all wide-eyed and dreamy saying "OH WE'RE GONNA MAKE THIS SUPER COOL GAME JUST GIVE US ALL THE MONEY FOR IT NOW SO WE CAN WUIT OUR JOBS TO WORK ON IT FULL TIME" and then nothing happens because they're college dropouts or people with no real managing experience and they have no idea what to do with all this abundant time and money.
Yes, there are successful examples like Shovel Knight, Shantae, etc. but other than that I feel like people are gonna keep falling for the same traps until kickstart funded shit goes the way of the dinosaur.

I would like to note that I’m not an "associate" of Nintendo or the like. I merely know a friend. He (who won’t be named), was kind enough to share some interesting information, that reveals a Nintendo Direct will occur on January 4th, at 3:00PM (PST). Direct opens with Reggie showing off a new Zelda Wii U trailer, called The Legend of Zelda: The Voiceless Shards. Release still 2016. The screen transitions to Aonuma, who calls the game "the most ambitious title he has seen in recent years." Bill Trinen takes over the Direct, and introduces a new free-to-play title for Wii U that incorporates amiibo in several minigames dependent on the amiibo tapped. Bill moves on to some exciting news, showing off a new feature in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD: the use of items called Quick Gems to fast travel from one location to another. Future Splatoon DLC is confirmed to be paid, starting in February. The last batch of free DLC releases on January 22nd, and adds a slew of new gear, the map "Ancho-V Games," and playable Octolings. Metroid Prime Federation Force release date of May 4th. The U.S. localization of Genei Ibun Roku #FE gets a final title (Revelations: SMT x Fire Emblem), release window of Fall 2016. An array of upcoming eShop/Indie games for Wii U and 3DS including Minecraft Wii U Edition. SMT and SMT II are released on the Wii U Virtual Console. English trailer for SMT IV: Final is shown. Mario Kart 8 surprise reveal, new DLC pack that crosses over with the Star Fox series. Three new characters (Fox, Birdo, and Wiggler), 2 new cups (Laser Cup and Shine Cup), and new vehicles. The Direct closes with Miyamoto, who shares his thoughts on the future of the Mario series, and how he wishes to reinvent the series for a more “modern” audience.
