Western RPGs kind of suck nowadays. How can they be fixed?

Modern Western RPGs tend to have a very narrow narrative focus (usually stopping some big bad guy/thing) but get bogged down in too much other crap that has no ultimate effect over the main story. JRPGs avoid this by focusing almost entirely on the main narrative, with sidequests only existing to gain experience, grab better loot, etc. I feel like many WRPGs kind of exist in a weird middle ground that ultimately leads to an unfocused finished product. Western developers include things like joining factions/guilds, romance, and morality systems, but these elements ultimately do not contribute to the overall na.rrative (aside from maybe binary good and evil endings)
In short, an RPG should either be a tight narrative structure or a sandbox to play around in, but trying to do both kind of ruins the experience.
Just my opinion, though.

Jigglypuff is a shit character, so shit that there is literally L I T E R A L L Y only one guy who can get to top 8.
Hbox SINGLE HANDEDLY flipped the fox puff matchup on his own, its still widely regarded by top pros to be 70%-30% in favor of fox. Seeing Hbox weave in and out instant death combos at 30% is a skill only few can even fathom. His character can die from one upthrow upair while he has to combo the spacies into fucking oblivion with 50 bairs or a risky rest combo that if he misses he INSTANT LOSES A STOCK.
Hbox is the hero we need, the one who consistently got out-tier'd for his entire life, but he refused to switch to 20XX he fucking pioneered his own character so much to a point that NONE OF THE GODS can replicate it and they all play top tiers pretty consistent except puff.
He fucking won it all, He beat his demons in life when the odds AND fans were always stacked against him. /v/ hates him because they will never craft their own negatives lives into success like him

Yeah it's a pretty enjoyable ride overall. It's not fantastic but like most open world Bethesda games, it's pretty fun to explore, complete quests and find stuff. Some will try to tell you it's irredeemable garbage but it really isn't.
Don't go in with too high expectations and you'll probably have a reasonably fun time.

This character and Bastion both suffer from the same problem. In fact his full powered turret is basically just summoning Bastion.
On offense there is very little you can do against a coordinated team that has Bastion and Torbjorn. When paired up with someone like Mercy and Reinhardt they become near unstoppable.
And they both have the same problems. Their range is way too great. Bastion can shred through an enemy at a range second only to Widowmaker. His damage output is massive and he has a large pool of ammunition that reloads quickly.
On the flip side the dwarf turret has ridiculous range and will immediately aim to hit you from its max range. It's also extremely tanky. All it takes is a team that tries to keep these two things alive and the game becomes unwinnable on point B of certain maps.
And no Genji isn't a hard counter to Bastion because any competent player will immediately notice that he has reflect active and they will just relocate themselves or wait.
Bastion needs a nerf to his health pool. Armor aside he is tankier than other damage dealers and really doesn't deserve to be. His self heal fully heals him too,
Junkrat and Pharah can deal quite well with both.
