I want to do a more gimmicky playthrough for my second run. I definitely want no shield at all. Maybe a little bit of magic on the side but nothing major. I was thinking maybe the Dancer's swords? Cestus was my first impulse but apparently they're garbage now. Might go with the demon cestus instead. Any ideas?

The darker, muddier textures fit the tone better and despite the lower polygon count all of the characters look much smoother. Not to mention being on a handheld, you aren't as emotionally invested into the game because it's played for convenience rather than anything else.
Some things are improved but overall it's a far worse game.
