I was talking with a friend about this just recently while he was finishing the game. If anything it seems selfish, because if they succeed they get to live a happy life but those that were left behind in the other timeline are still fucked.

We didn't get to play through a whole fragment, but we did get to see a decent amount of scenes. We did get to watch Uchi play through a fragment though. It couldn't have been longer than maybe half an hour-ish? That said, Uchi knew what he was doin', so it doesn't really say much for the game's length, ha. Granted, based on what was happening, I want to say that it was probably one of the earlier Fragments, so other ones might take longer. For all I know, the X Door might lead to some Q Room-tier Puzzle Olympics nonsense, so I'm guessing that'd pad out a decent chunk of time, ha.
As for the gun, YES. There's a scene where Zero introduces the dilemma, thoroughly explaining the risks and rewards of either outcome, then you get to watch everyone bicker back and forth and give their opinions on it. After everyone's said their piece, it shifts to you, and a 10 second timer starts ticking down in real time. You either pull the trigger, or wait until the timer hits 0 and let someone die. Failing to choose results in abstaining from pulling the trigger, so you can't artificially extend the time you have to make your decision. That said, the whole scene before explaining everything is pretty thorough, so it's not like they pull a fast one on ya. They might later on, but I can only speak for what I saw, ha.

Everyone finishes their lines, then kinda gives you that "WHADDYA WAITING FOR" look. Camera focuses on you, then time stops and this timer makes this SHATTER sound and appears on screen. It starts to tick down with very LOUD ticks, then starts SHAKING and RUMBLING as it goes on. I liked Clover in 999. She was used to clue the player into the purpose of the Nonary Game as well as what happened 9 years before. She was also an essential piece to figuring out that Snake wasn't dead. I think her depressed attitude was pretty understandable and it was great when you finally start to see her snap.
In VLR, she is still enjoyable but to a much lesser degree. For one, her outfit is just fucking stupid and feels like a huge departure from how she looked in 999. Most of the time she stands in the shadow of Alice and doesn't have a chance to shine herself. Some of the shit she says is also stupid (ie. the panty joke). Clover never flew off the wall and killed anyone like she did in 999. The closest she ever gets to that is when Alice dies but you either calm her down or the game throws a "to be continued" at you. Also, the ending to her timeline sucks. Despite all that, she does have a few decent moments. I also felt like a pure asshole for betraying her in Dio's timeline since you know how much she has already been through.

Honestly I'm pretty sure a /v/ Ambidex game would end pretty simply: one guy would suggest that everyone swears to violently murder anyone who picks betray, and then everyone is too much of a beta to risk it afterwards.

People mistrust Sigma and more likely to get pissed at him betraying because he's an old man acting like a perverted 22-year-old, and has a robotic eye. His whole behavior and appearance probably seems super off to everyone, so it's no wonder people are more suspicious of him. Junpei was more sarcastic, but Sigma is much more openly perverted, which again comes off as really creepy once you realise he's in an old man's body.
Is this the longest a Zero Escape thread has lasted in a while? I'm kind of amazed it's still standing and near bump limit.

I think the AB game was designed with the notion that at least one person would be a wildcard, or someone not trustworthy- after all, if everyone's goal was to escape (which it's supposed to be), ally is always the best way to do it, it's the highest overall BP gain
>everybody allies- 6 BP across three people
>pair betrays, solo allies- 6 BP for pair, -2 for solo, 4 BP gain overall
because other people have secondary objectives, though, they're not immediately willing to pick "ally". the game was designed for people with conflicting motives.

They instantly broke into a fistfight to try kill the three that had enough points to escape, and then the group gradually experienced a collective mental breakdown over the next two sessions as everyone started becoming backstabbing two-faced fuckheads who were only looking out for themselves.
On the last puzzle room two guys in one group held the third underneath the automatic door as it descended and ended up cutting him in half with it.
Only one girl got out in the end because she was basically the Luna of the group and the other contestant didn't expect her to betray him right at the end.
