Personally I'd consider it one of his worst, it's not a bad movie, but the story and the characters are so unsually conventional that there's nothing of particular interest for me
It's the less Tarantulesque movie, which is why everyone else thinks it's his best while flickloverse like you think it's his worst
edgy dialogue + stylised action takes a backseat for a focus more on characters, getting older, downtrodden people trying to hustle to survive. it was a nice change of pace after pulp fiction. arguably one of his better movies even if it's not his best.

Those aren't quips. They're jokes, informed by character, that come about organically as part of the situation they're in. A quip and a joke are not the same thing. Whedon does quips, Kasdan does not.
He was programmed for birth ergo he can't make jokes? The Stormtrooper's are people who live together and talk to each other. Even if they're raised to love the First Order and hate the Republic entirely, it's simply not possible to make them all inhuman robots. Child soldiers make jokes too, you know.
It's fine if you didn't like the movie, but these criticisms are not valid.

So you're the King of the Bad Guys. You have Starkiller base and your opponents are the Republic and the Resistance. You attack their respective home planets but you'll have to fire two separate rounds to do it.
Which do you hit first? The R̶e̶b̶e̶l̶l̶i̶o̶n̶ Resistance or the Republic? Which is the smart strategical choice? The First Order chose the Republic, which bought the heroes enough time fuck them up. Considering they'd lost two Death Stars in less than 40 years to insurgents you'd think they wouldn't underestimate their opposition for a third time in a row, but nooooo.

The only dumb thing is not that they built a third Death Star, in fact that actually makes sense. But rather that the Republic, knowing full well that they not only live in a universe where planet-busting technology exists, but also that their enemy possesses direct and immediate knowledge of how to build said weapons, chooses not to construct such weapons to deter future attacks. It's like the Soviet Union being nuked, twice, by the United States and then deliberately choosing not to construct atomic weapons of their owns because...reasons.
