Who was the better Kingpin? Michael Clarke Duncan or Vincent D'Onofrio?
35 posts and 4 images submitted.
>>

Duncan had the build
D'Onofrio had the skin colour and the acting chops
>>
>>64394873
Vince is a better actor but MCD was still a good actor.

But yeah I kinda wish Vince had the same level of physical intimidation as MCD.
>>
>>64394873
This.

Not that MCD is bad actor though...easily the best in that 2003 movie

It's for intimidation, they've done it since the beginning of time. They usually use horns or drums though.

>inexplicably setting it in the present day
But how else would voters for the 2012 election know that Obama is horrible and if he's re-elected the economy will collapse and everything will be tyranny?

>black eddie willers
That's not really a problem.
I still can't believe that they changed every single actor in every movie.
>>
>>64394486
eddie willers is a longstanding subject of debate amongst objectivists because he's a good guy who does the right thing but he's just not smart or capable enough to earn membership into the doomsday shelter and is just left to fend for himself as the elites withdraw and the world burns.

making him a nigger - explicitly so, since it's a different nigger in each iteration - adds unnecessary and unintended racist baggage to already beleaguered source material.

>I still can't believe that they changed every single actor in every movie
there was a callback to the original ellis wyatt actor, which was weird considering that everyone else changed

At your computer? Pathetic
>>
If I sat next to someone in the theater and they started clapping I'd fucking give them a nasty look.
>>
>>64394026
I went three times so far and no one has clapped at it yet. It's timed too weird and there's no point to start clapping without it being awkward and forced

i'm downloading this just now and about to sit down with some food and watch it.

Why? He was solid in Foxcatcher.

How does /tv/ feel about House of Cards? I've recently started (and finished) it and am hungry for opinions, or at the very least the validation of my own.

I think it's pretty tits. It's refreshing to have a show that can get me so excited about intrigue and dialog as apposed to only action.

The third season was awful (as someone who loved the first two) but I'm gonna watch it to the end goddammit.
>>
I loved the first two seasons, especially Frank's cunning and manipulation. There was a noticeable drop off in quality in season 3 though, I felt like it focused to much on Frank's and Claire's relationship drama and turned Claire into a completely illogical person who acts entirely on impulse
>>
>>64393819

First season was amazing until the last episodes. Second season is mediocre and third season is shit.

I really wouldn't recommend seeing The Force Awakens. I'd probably consider it worse than the prequel trilogy at this point.

The movie us too safe. The plot is almost exactly the same as A New Hope, but without any of the charm that the characters in ANH had.

Rey is a Mary Sue of the highest degree, and never has to face any problem she can't solve in a few minutes. Finn really serves no purpose. Kylo Ren is not a threatening villain, apart from the opening crawl. Where Vader was a mob boss, Kylo Ren us a school shooter that blares Evanescence and Linkin Park 24/7. It's pretty bad when the best character was a storm trooper with a stun baton.

Where humor was attempted, it takes you out of the movie, rather than flowing with it as in previous installments. It's the same humor as any other cookie-cutter movie made today, and those cookies are getting stale.

There's all sorts of references to the original trilogy that make the movie feel like its supposed to be a parody, not a sequel. These references, of course have nothing to do with lore or world-building. Instead, they reference parts of Star Wars you'd know from browsing your News Feed, so you don't have to see previous movies to get them.

On top of it all, the movie can't stand alone, and that's one of the biggest failures a movie can have. The references ensure that you must have some (though not extensive) knowledge of Star Wars prior, and the plot leaves you with questions that won't be answered until the next episode is out.

Oh, and the soundtrack was lackluster. I'd be more forgiving if it had a track on par with Duel of the Fates or Binary Sunset, but it doesn't.

It's a bad movie, but it's not even an enjoyable sort of bad like those SyFy original movies. It's just disappointing.

Couldn't even finish it.

Within thirty seconds, I began to murmur "flick...flick....flick". I had started shaking with nerves about a minute later. By the time I got to the halfway point, I was yelling quite loudly "FLICK, THIS IS A FLICK, THIS IS A FLICK" and jumping up and down on my couch. Seeing Daniel Day Memeis' face contort on the screen in front of me spitting out faux cinematic fedora dialogue was too much. I got up and walked around my room, waving my arms in the air and blowing raspberries inbetween accusations of "FLICK, FLICK, FLICK!!!!". Eventually, the movie came to an end and I turned the tv off and lied on the floor still blowing raspberries until my mom came in to clean because I spilled my bottle of Black Cherry Faygo on the couch a few minutes prior.

I can't believe I let you guys tricked me into watching this. 'Tis but a flick, nothing more.
