You are Takashi Wakui, a sixteen year old Japanese high school student. In your world, half of humanity possesses a Persona—the corporeal manifestation of one’s personality as a supernatural entity. You had been an unlucky ordinary at first, lacking the potential to summon your Persona. Then the application AETHER was forcibly installed on your smartphone. It sucked you into the nightmarish realm of the Blackened Void, where you fought monsters and awakened your Persona in the process.
You are now the Wild Card of the 22nd Century. You possess the Fool Arcana, giving you the power to draw strength from bonds and wield multiple Personas at once. Already this places you in great danger, as the Fool Arcana is seen as an impossibility by the common masses. Revealing your newfound power to the common world would immediately land your head on a dissection table. To make matters worse, you and several others have been cursed as the Void’s Chosen, fated to traverse the wastelands of the Blackened Void until the end of the game. For what purpose does AETHER exist, what mysteries lie within and how is victory achieved?

<THE_FIRST> Welp it’s happening again
<chocolat_orange> right when the assignments are standing to ramp up too. :(
<chocolat_orange> would it kill for the game to give us some time off for once? let us relax, smell the flowers and eat some delicious puddings?
<THE_FIRST> Celeste
<THE_FIRST> God is dead and Kaede Kurusu killed him
<THE_FIRST> The quicker you accept it the better off you’ll feel
<THE_FIRST> It only took me a few weeks to get used to the fact that there was the entrance to a death world three blocks from my house
<chocolat_orange> yeah I know. :P
<chocolat_orange> that’s the best thing about online chatting. you can vent to anybody you like and they won’t know if you’re shouting or not.
<THE_FIRST> Please don’t actually be shouting
<THE_FIRST> The walls here aren’t as thick as you think
<chocolat_orange> don’t worry, takashi-kun. the only time i will be shouting is when the soap dramas i’m watching completely jumps the shark
<THE_FIRST> What a big relief
<Akagi21> do you insufferable pricks have something to talk about
<Akagi21> or are you going to waffle on like you always fucking do
<chocolat_orange> >:O hey, i take offense to that! just because i’m a more socially active person than you doesn’t mean you can accuse me of waffling!
<chocolat_orange> for starters, they’re not even my favourite dessert!
<Akagi21> what the everloving shitcrack does that have to do with anything
<THE_FIRST> Uh
<chocolat_orange> wow akikazu you sure are bad at picking up cues. also, i didn’t know swears like that existed.
<Akagi21> eat a dick tachibana
<chocolat_orange> ew :/
<Azure Scholar> Now that we all have released the daily crude juvenility from our systems, I propose we sit down and talk about new notification we have received.
<chocolat_orange> i’m lying on my bed though.
<Azure Scholar> That is not of my concern. Takashi, what are your thoughts?
<THE_FIRST> Eh not much
<THE_FIRST> It’s a mission in the Forgotten City
<THE_FIRST> My Sector
<THE_FIRST> Big quotation remarks
<THE_FIRST> Been a while since I got anything like that
<THE_FIRST> In the grand schemes of things this probably means something
<Azure Scholar> Most likely of the negative variety. We have not yet scratched the surface of the mighty glacier that is AETHER.
<Azure Scholar> Shall we be gathering together after classes tomorrow?
<THE_FIRST> Well it says the deadline is in four days
<THE_FIRST> So that gives us a little breathing room
<THE_FIRST> Maybe
<THE_FIRST> Maybe not
<Akagi21> because of whatever wild card bullshit you have to do right
<THE_FIRST> Uh
<THE_FIRST> Yeah
<THE_FIRST> I’m a lot different to you guys after all
<Akagi21> what the hell are you going to do anyways
<Akagi21> sacrifice a virgin
<Akagi21> sit in a bath made out of the blood of orphans
<Akagi21> eat a chunk of uranium
<Akagi21> cover yourself with a load of tattoos
<THE_FIRST> Um
<THE_FIRST> What the hell Akikazu
<chocolat_orange> wow somebody has been researching fool rumours on the Internet.
<Akagi21> i was curious okay
<Akagi21> don’t fucking look at me like that
<chocolat_orange> we aren’t face to face though
<Akagi21> shut the fuck up you damn well know what i mean
<Akagi21> theyre all bullshit anyways
<chocolat_orange> it could be worse though. it could’ve been WWDIF fiction
<THE_FIRST> The hell
<chocolat_orange> what would you do if a fool fiction. the title speaks for itself.
<chocolat_orange> even worse is WWDTF fiction. you know what that means, takashi-kun?
<THE_FIRST> Celeste how do you know all of this
<chocolat_orange> eheheh…
<chocolat_orange> i was bit of a nerd as a kid.
<Akagi21> yeah no shit

People who are saying there was no mechanical/unit bloat between editions are forgetting that 8th is the edition that introduced motherfucking Horde size units which require twice as many models to actually form a rank.
They didn't introduce horde size units, they gave people rules to use their giant blocks of goblins and clanrats. The mechanics just sucked ass and worked for elite troops.
1- Choose a faction;

EXTENDED EDITION
>Knight background story(individual knight or knight house)
>Mechanicum Forgeworld(Specific forgeworld YOU created - use robed SM painter for reference)
>Inquisitorial Minor Ordos(Without getting over your head. EX: My Ordos controls the Emperor's corpse!!!)
>Individual characters, background or characterization(Ex: Sergeant X from the Amazings regiment)
>Ecclesiarchial groups, priest armies & religious groups/religions.
>Planets
>Ideas(Anything about everything)
2- Use the coloring books to make your own faction, DOW/SM painters also welcome.
3- Name the faction(I suggest googling it for doubles)
4- Fill in some lore(Optional but appreciated)
5- Post it(Write your alias in the name field so I can credit you, otherwise it is credited as anon)
6- Wait for months(literally) while I put them all together in my brain that fairly lacks cognitive capabilities.
>>46158415
>Some idea on what's going on:
I had this idea of making a really complex and integrated story about Imperial factions after a major crusade. Considering the size of the galaxy a crusade must require thousands of regiments and hundreds of Chapters to conduct. Which also leaves them with spoils of war in the end. I could have just populate the whole thing from my drafts but I figured it would be more fun and challenging to fill the factions with anon made ones. So here we are.
>Disclaimers:
-I store all contributions and work them into the story one way or another, so don't hesitate to contribute.
-No Orks no ork related anything, I'm writing Orks right now and I'm fed with it. No zoggin Orkz, ya 'ear!
-Try to make the factions as unique as possible(it's YOUR faction after all). Theme, military focus and characterization is what makes a faction alive most of the time.
Here is an example from an official chapter. Black Templars are gothic space knights(theme), they use close combat whenever possible(military), special characters in the codex(charz)
-If you submitted in a previous thread know that its been kept safe.
-Post the HTML codes of your colors if you want an accurate representation, otherwise I pick the colors using gimp which might not be exact.
-Creator names for the factions cannot be changed after the first initialization, if you want to be added as a creator to an already made faction you need to contribute newer fluff almost as much as the OC. Even if the OC is credited as anon you can only be credited beside him. This is done to prevent miscrediting.

We were allowed our own small corner to mourn our friend in the creases of these cavernous networks. Following the Arena battle;
>>46111885
we found ourselves in the seats of power untapped and yet in realizing this our friend faded away right before us.
In the holds of the Furiosa, we gathered around the lamplight waiting for everyone to make their report... " Soon we would have to make our move, the enemy already saw what we're capable of but I suppose the blessings that come with that will show itself in time .... or never again.

The din of the Salt Pit died as the crowds left the stands and the gamblers collected their bounties. The Wyrd Hunt had bested the Twin Daggers and their victory had garnered Bloom his spoils. On any other day winning 800 zeny would feel great, but his spirits weren't high at all. Instead of happiness he could only feel empty; drained; like whatever was left of Nerotan before Fleur consumed her. He stuffed the cash in his pocket and meekly headed back to the Furiosa.
Back on the Furiosa, Bloom dropped off his belongings and headed for the galley. He had told Quaz his interest in alquemy and his hesitation to start just yet. Either as sage advice or a practical joke, he was directed toward cooking. It seemed to make sense. How could you cook a potion if you couldn't cook a simple meal? He stopped pondering the merits of his training and went to work. His progress was slow. The images of the Twin Dagger fight still haunted him. "Is that the pat-life laid out for me now?" he wondered out loud. Being sired into a Midian had greatly bolstered his abilities, yet the verbal tick had remained. He ignored his foible and let the images come back to his mind: Livia declaring the round lethal without hesitation, Nerochan's arrogance, Fleur jumping in to help and death match that ensued. The dexterous feats and skilled both sides had shown awed the young mage. His awe turned to anxiety soon as Livia fell and Kaz was bleeding out. Fleur was then alone and the Twin Daggers were ready to neatly prepare for their next meal. That's when it happened. Calling forth some mysterious power Kaz had summoned a ghost. It was over quickly. The Twin Daggers were no more and the Salt Pit erupted into a cacophony of screams. That fight was over but apparently Kaz wasn't finished. It seem he had made a deal with the ghost and it was collecting its end immediately.

/exg/, still not letting these threads die with dignity edition.
>>46157386
To start some discussion, albeit discussion we've already had quite a few times, last thread someone called getting Sorcery a no-brainer for any PC. How true is that in /exg/'s experience? Last game I was in, only one character was a sorcerer, and the other PCs didn't really feel like they were missing out. Sorcery's obviously useful and very versatile, but in my experience and opinion it's not something you'd be a fool to not take.
>>46157435
Only one character has sorcery in my group too. There was some mild interest in having them teach another character, but it didn't really go anywhere.
If I make another character (which is unlikely, having taken Adamant Skin Technique) then I might dabble.
>>46157435
I'm starting with 3 occult and it would be very easy to take sorcery, especially with everything being free and packaged with your control spell. But I have no intention of getting sorcery because it doesn't fit my character, even if it'll be very useful.
Usually I have low standards for what it'd take to be more effective.

Feedback on this Crimson fist list?
HQ Pedro Kantor: 185
Elites:
Honor Guard 235 + Drop Pod = 270 (going with pedro)
SternGuard 10 man 4 Combimeltas + Heavy flamer + Drop pod = 315
SternGuard 10 man + 4 Combimeltas + drop pod = 295
Troops:
2 10 man Tac squads = 280 + 70 for transport
Heavy Support
StormRaven w/ meltas =200
Centurion Dev w/ grav = 240
Obviously the honor guard is the weakest point in the list but I love those guys
>>46157323
Could use a drop pod for those Cents
>>46157323
It's a generic SM list
Couple questions:
What transport are the Tacts taking? I'm assuming Pods
Are the Centurions catching a ride in the Raven?
If so, I feel that's your weak point the Cents are a big danger and if bad reserves go, you might end up without nearly 500pts (plus the 350pts of Tacts if you are going pods)
But still a good, if generic, list
Neat.
I like 'em.
