Can somebody explain to me why in the fuck every single new RPG insists on adding a system that allows players to reroll failed rolls?
Don't designers realize how fucking insulting that is? "Oh congrats you beat the story mode on ultra-easy, you're the hero of the land".
By including those mechanics in an RPG you are guaranteeing that nobody will ever get anything of value whatsoever out of playing your game.

Alright, I'm desperate. I've been playing Skitarii/Admech for a good while now and consistently lose matches. I want to say I'm at least moderately good at the game too so it's not just me being a shitty scrub.

The problem I've found with them (especially against Tau) is that the army in general medium range. you have to get close to really make effective use of them. The Skitarii having Scout, helps, but often means still having to get out of cover to get your shots.
The only armies I seem to do well against are other Medium ranged armies followed by melee (but who doesn't against melee amirite?)

I'm hip deep in this cumbersome project that I've been halfway considering for about ten years. It's a 3.5-based steampunk fantasy setting, based generally on the mid to late 1800s. Globally, but the area of central concern, at least to the first game I wanna run with it, is the wild west.

Some crunch:
Firearms consist of three components: action, barrel, and grip. Barrel and grip largely define what size the weapon is (two handed firearms gain a 1.5x dex modifier bonus to attack, one handed firearms can be used with both hands or TWF'd, light firearms don't provoke AoOs), whereas the Action is where all the, uh, action happens. The action of the firearm is the component that must be enchanted to impart a magical effect to bullets fired from it, the action is the actual part of the weapon that some can be proficient in or a master of, etc.

If there's one thing you could have gotten Richard Garfield to change during the developement of Magic: the Gathering, what would it have been?
I would have gotten him to spread out counterspells, to make sure each color had plenty of interrupts to interact with each other's spells on the stack. It's insane that such a huge part of the game belongs overwhelmingly to blue, and other colors besides it should have gotten ways to interact with the stack.

Blue deserves to have bigger creatures, direct removal (Of both the damage and exile variety) and reanimation effects. Also, no one but blue gets good spells and red's damage spells are far too strong.
