Thoughts so far? Some notable fluff things include:
>All but 1 Imperial Fist dying
>Ork deathstars
>Warbosses the size of Knights
>Nobs the size of Dreadnoughts
>Orks having ambassadors
>Black Templars, Fists Exemplars, Excoriators, Iron Knights, Crimson Fists, and reunifying
>Fighting over Terra
>Eldar raid on the Imperial Palace and Custodes actually doing something
>Mechanicum secretly creating some kind of hybrid Ork-Necron monstrosity
>Black Templars and Iron Warriors coming to an uneasy alliance when they're both attacked by Orks while fighting each other.

What?
>>46931843
Not the OP, but I think he's referring to:
A.) In one of the earlier books, it talks about how the Mechanicum is conducting secret tests in the Noctis Labyrinth on Mars
B.) In the latest book, a Vanus temple assassin discovers 10,000 Ork corpses inside this facility on Mars as part of the same secret research project
>>46931778
>>Eldar raid on the Imperial Palace and Custodes actually doing something
Are there any fight scenes between Eldar and Custodes? I could only imagine that shit would be cash.
>massive inferiority complex
>not even good at being evil
>their king is the largest and fattest toad
>will capture the PC's and try to impress them

At least Night's dampening thing is useful. But that's it for Night.

I actually like Eclipse, being able to make actually binding deals with people who don't want to is great mythical stuff. Also being able to call lightning or wreath yourself in fire or whatever else cool stuff that fits.
What are some themes that you like to use in your games? Do you play up the fact that vampires are social creatures that have a simmering demonic hatred inside of them, with the Beast always struggling to overthrow the Man? Do you ignore the moral greyness of Hunter to play pulpy games where "is Vigilantism right" are sidelined in favour of four colour heroics against vampires? Does anyone actually play Mage games that are all about Indiana Jonesing lost Supernal temples?
What about less overt playstyle focused themes? Do you have recurring plot elements that you like to use, or NPC tropes like the damsel in distress or double agent?
Which hacks have you found useful, like the Soft-Loud/Smooth-Rough system from Demon, or the ones from VtR Chronicler's Guide for playing more monstrous vamps?
Basically: What are your games like (when you actually get to run them, that is)?

Hey guys, have a bit of an issue with one player in the group. He is a new player who joined recently and he's the kind of player who is convinced that everything mentioned by the GM is going to have some sort of significance.
Case in point: the group went to meet a Nos primogen and I described an archive of tapes and dvds he has and the player, while the rest of the group are talking, just starts showing everything into the bag. When the stunned Nos asked what the hell he's doing, his reasoning was that this place is not safe (the Noc sewers got attacked recently) and that he will be preserving this in his home.
Naturally, this is completely retarded and there was an argument but the question is how to deal with that sort of behavour.
On one hand, the stuff he grabbed did have some useful things there, I was just not expecting him to just steal everything. But if he discovers some good stuff, then I will be just enabling this sort of behaviour further. And if I say that there's absolutely nothing useful there, then I will dishonest and it's a dick move to say that all the stuff is useless.
Now the reason I'm asking and not discussing this with him, is because we already had a talk recently about him not working as well in the group, so I don't want to immediately tell him that again, he's doing something wrong.
I am also considering showing him what happens when you piss of a Nos primogen, but I'm not sure whether I would be too much of a dick. My idea is to have the Nos stalk them after that and use Obfuscate to turn into a human when the Brujah goes hunting, turn into Nos in the middle of drinking and tell him that he'll be blood-bound. That would make the player very paranoid but is that a bitch thing to do?

The nights have been cooler than normal. But the flurries of snow at night are quickly melted in the morning; most of the thralls resort to wearing warm kitted sweaters most nights. While you survey the landscape from one of your most complete towers, laborers begin the work of lugging heavy scientific equipment to the top floor; each thrall knowing that it will be his life if he drops anything. An elevator runs through the center, as to load carts full of cadavers to the laboratory but hasn’t been completed yet. Bartholomew has done a fantastic job on the décor, gruesome gargoyles over look the grounds, while stone murals depict gory battle scenes from days gone by. All of the rooms of the castle are empty, without the trace of furniture. This makes any sound echo loudly down halls.
Your fallen foe, The Arrow, has been put under a spell to preserve his corpse from decay. Though you have had fun hanging his body from his tendons like a pig. But even this cannot dissuade your lingering worry about who sent this hunter to your doorstep, and so soon after you had awakened. None of the villagers could have known, and they suspect you less of your true nature after saving Maria.
>>46942288
You have struck up a correspondence with Maria, sending letters in fine stationary and receiving letters in return; some laced with perfume of lilac. You have found that she is a well read mortal, and not simply a wallflower; though you knew this after seeing her dispatch The Arrow. You will wait for the right moment before you present the choice of unlife, but for now, you’ll try to accumulate more power and influence over the town. You think that it might be easier to simply begin making more thralls, ghouls, and lesser vampires to take the town. But you also enjoy mingling mortals, and perhaps you can rule in such a way that is beneficial to the mortals(Many elders are slain, in large part, thanks to their cruelty).

>In year 3486, mankind has spread across the stars in numerous autonomous colonies that have little to do with each other, as space travel is slow and distances between inhabitable planets so vast that journeys can take generations.
>Until Rapture happens
>The Celestial Host spills to Earth, beings of light carried upon solar winds that promise salvation and paradise to believers. At the same time, giant battlecruisers appear into space in a burst of cosmic radiation, carrying aboard the obsidian legions of Hell. At first the infernal legions seem evil and damned, but many human worlds soon come to find that not all is so black and white.
>What ensues is a galactic war between mankind divided, waged with both technology and strange, unearthly powers. New ships are developed that are capable of FTL travel, as well as tools of war. Things from beyond this dimension are fused with mundane learning and engineering to create warships powered by hellfire or by the music of angelic choirs. Starfighters have deadly dogfights amidst the broadsides of massive capital ships while angels flit amongst combat, slicing through warcraft with their plasma swords as hulking, armoured forms of demons board enemy ships and fill the hallways with death.

Sup fa/tg/uys. How many of you remember how awesome this shit was?
My gaming group and I were talking about awesome cartoons we watched growing up. After discussing Medabots we decided we were going to try to play a tabletop version of it.
How would this work ? My group doesn't feel like straying too far from what they already know, so they want to keep using d20, preferably with D&D 3.5 as a base.
We have already realised that a lot of it won't work, like classes and the like, so it'll be a mostly homebrewed system by the time we're done.
Anyone have any suggestions on how we should work this out? Maybe other 'good' d20 systems we could take elements from?
Things we are looking to figure out:
- Ability to design and play your own medabot
- The possibility to swap out parts, which means individual parts need their own stats
- A modern settings with an appropriate skill list
Also, feel free to discuss your thoughts on Medabots in general.
You definitely want a localization damage system. Each part (Head, limb, leg, hand, etc...) should have their own hit points.
It should super matter if your gun arm is blown off, but they're robots so keep fighting. Look at Mekton Zeta for some super in depth robot building rules that you could adapt/simplify.
>>46919123
I'll be sure to give that a good look, thanks.
I remember doing a game like this years ago, idid actually a target system like fallout, to aim to each part of the body
however every single hit my playes did was to aim for the head, since it was considered a critical hit, even if that was harder to hit that other parts of the body
also, try to do habilities that depends of an specific part, like, you cannot use a long sword if your character doesnt have two arms, or he has a gun with one arm, but it aims better if he has both of them working
as for a seting maybe just try something around a tournament, the game i did had a very basic and fun system so grinding to defeat other guys was not a problem
What is your favorite/"go-to" generic RPG, and why?
>>46915061
Dogs in the Vineyard because it fits my GMing style. The intended setting might be a Western, but it works well for any group of people who go into a place where they aren't wanted, interact with people who don't want them to discover things, and whose authority means more to the PCs than to the NPCs.
Pathfinder, because you can do basically anything with it. There are rules for dungeon crawling, kingdom building, gritty combat, running a business, sci-fi technology, naval combat, political intrigue, and pretty soon, horror.
Honestly, it's not as bad as people say. You can basically run ANY kind of genre with it because there are official books for just about everything.
>>46915316
Agreed. It's a good RPG for people who want to fool around in a fantasy setting with minimal (albeit existent) balance issues and virtually no way to not get what you want.
You are Ur'shal, Chieftain of the Stonetusk Clan, Warlord of the Wastes, and dragonslayer. A young and rather pathetic example of his kind perhaps, but a dragon nonetheless. With Slaagyr dead, it should be a matter of simply mopping up what remains of his forces or demanding their surrender, though you've still yet to see any sign of Joachim since your arrival in Slaagyr's lair. Perhaps the cannibal priest has decided to cut his losses and flee with the death of his master, though something tells you that you haven't heard the last of him one way or another.
For now, you have been exploring what remains of Slaagyr's lair, which has proven rather pokey for the lair of a dragon, though again you can't say you think Slaagyr ranked very high in draconic circles. What you did find however, beyond his library, storeroom, trophy room and mound of treasure, was a pair of very unusual chambers just beyond the cell which held his guest, or pet, Sofie.
Both seem to radiate magic enough that even one as magically inept as you can feel it prickling in the air, and the more ominous of the two chambers left you with a painful gnawing in your gut and a heavy nosebleed just from stepping through the door. Not particularly eager to look into it any more yourself, you have instead settled for calling upon those in your war party with a little more knowledge of such matters.
Bra'kur, Aza'ra, Isyil and the coven have congregated at the end of the corridor, Aza'ra and Isyil muttering between themselves as they peer into the darker room while the coven and Bra'kur chatter away about the crystalline one. From the sound of it, both have some ideas of what these things might be, or might have been at least, even if most of the details are going completely over your head.
So the question is which group you wish to demand explain it to you in mundane terms first.

I can't believe I missed the thread where we finally slew Slaagyr.
You walked all day, found some treasure buried under a lake, dug it out from the sand and dragged it out to safety. It's been taxing but satisfying. You finally reached the lake house when the sun was already down and found out it belonged to the marquise, who gave you an exploration charter and a mission.
Well, she just wanted you to bring a sealed scroll to a certain Stanley in Maner. Easy, right?
The problem is that she wanted you to leave right now. “The night is young” she said with a smile, as if expecting you to go there right now.
After a five minute walk, you leave the sandy and somewhat rocky beach the house was built close to and enter the grassy fields again. The grating of insect limbs against each other produce the normally somewhat soothing sound crickets make, or cicadas, or maybe some other strange and exotic bug that's active at night since what you hear sounds nothing like either of the former options.
And then Bryld just says it out loud.
“Why do we have to go right now? What's wrong with her?”, she openly complains, looking as tired as you expect her to be after the day you had. She's having trouble putting one foot ahead of the other by now, and even if you're much more used to physical labour than she is you have to admit that you would really, really love to just hit the sack right now.
“I understand it might be urgent, but it's night! People shouldn't travel at night! And does she really have no servants? I can't believe she doesn't!”, she continues.
You gained two scrolls by interacting with her: one is your exploration charter, which officially makes you a Shadow Marches explorer, possibly the first of your kind, and you need to take good care of it; the other is a sealed message for this Stanley.
>”If it's urgent, we have to deliver it now”.
>”It can't be this urgent, let's camp out for the night”.
>”I'd rather force myself to march so we can sleep in a real bed tonight, let's reach Maner”.

Give me some ideas for fantasy drugs that could rule the streets of a large kingdom. A mix of benign and highly destructive drugs, shit for both commoners and nobility alike.

>>46932280
>Fairy dust (commoner drug)
off-white sparkling powder made from crushed fairy wings, ground to dust, and mixed with dwarven blackpowder and sugar
Administerd by:
Snorting, eating, breathing it in
Effects:
Increased body temperature, sweating, feeling of euphoria, widened pupils, mild visual hallucinations including vibrant colours and loss of depth perception, mild auditory hallucinations including muffled high-pitched buzzing sounds and echo. Prolonged use risks include heart failure, loss of hearing and sight, and hormonal imbalance.
>Midnight Lotus (nobility)
Deep blue leaves ground and treated like tobacco by gnome artificiers and mixed with dried skin of various poisoned berries for taste by various nobilities.
Administerd by:
smoking
Effects:
Extremely potent feeling of superiority, calmness and clarity of mind, slight shaking of limbs, and loss of warmth in skin colour, increased magic affinity and sometimes fleeting visions of great events, some which happened, are yet to happen, or are just wishes and dreams. Users will sometimes display obsessive behaviour over fine details and feel inspired to begin on impossible projects.
Long term use risks include: brain damage, nervous tissue damage, shaking and loss of controll of limbs, inability to digest food, contracted blood vessels, and a blue tongue.
