So other than posting witch ass, is there a purpose to this thread?
I'm curious about this, what's your stance on this or what is your opinion? Are all your elves blond, delicate and white? Or are all your dwarfs ambiguously dark-skinned, bearded shortstacks? Are your orcs green-skinned not-natives or not-blacks?
I feel like diversity in human ethnicities is expected, but I rarely if ever see anyone approaching that topic. We could use the same basic idea for human variations on other races, right? For example, elves who live in arid deserts, have evolved to have darker skin, Dwarfs could be extremely light skinned for arctic climates, etc. This is a serious thread, not /pol/ or tumblr bait, please keep both extremes to a minimum.
Shadowrun can have multiethnic I suppose.
>>46968258
I meant more specifically for your typical fantasy setting, but I'm sure that Shadowrun allows for such things too. Not to familiar with the setting, but they're basically mutated humans, right?
>>46968225
It's good.
I guess the typical one is wood elf, high elf, dark elf but more standard D&D style settings will have at least some variation between different kinds of dwarf, halflings, gnome, and sometimes others.
Hey guys this is the continuation of our Building thread from last night.
The story so far : Thr'ull leads a tribe of bullywugs in the swamp. During their scavenging efforts they encountered a juvenile troll, while the beast was felled it claimed the life of a skilled hunter. As the scouts explored the outer reaches of the swamp they came back with reports of monstrous giants, the encounters left one about crippled. Thr'ull and the elder female were able to join in the covenants of both Tode, God of armaments, siege, and the forge; as well as Malu, Goddess of Water and Rebirth. We last left off with Thr'ull having encountered a small camp of three humanoids and deciding what should be done.
Rules: Ties are won by first post

Pic is the last decision made in the thread, story post incoming.

Hey, Anon. I think it would be best if you use a bullywug pic like this for OP. Makes it easier for other players to see it.
Thr'ull decided it would be wise to take only his most skilled warriors, moreover he could only arm so many of his tribe at once. He instructed three of the hunters to gather their spears and follow him, leaving two tribesmen to go and gather materials. He left the crippled sentry in charge of the females and set off to the south, his band of hunters hopping close behind. After a short while they happened upon the area that Thr'ull had discovered the tracks and lowered their pace as they crept forward. Soon the voices could be heard through the misty air accompanied by a peculiar whirring. Thr'ull halted his band of hunters A short distance away from the camp perimeter.

What kind of projects have you run Edition
A dude on the OPP forum wrote a bunch of DB Charms for 3E, and is apparently planning to write a whole Charmset. Being interested in playing Dragon-Blooded but not comfortable enough with the 3E mechanics to completely trust my own judgement on whether these Charms are balanced or not, I'd be interested in hearing /exg/'s opinions.

>tfw basically every change to Infernals save the removal of-okay, admittedly most of Chapter 1 except for the bit about privleges in Hell and the intriguing bit about build-your-own Shintais has been meh for me at best or like watching a treasured pocketwatch fall off a bridge into a whirlpool
>tfw you will never be a Devil Tiger in 3e
>tfw Infernals aren't likely to show up at all for a few more years
At this rate my last desperate hope is for someone talented somewhere to homebrew their own I Can't Believe It's Not The Broken Winged Crane! the same way TAW tried to fix Lunars.
I'm basically going to ask one of my favourite questions again, because since I originally asked it, there's been a bit more support for it officially:
Have you ever played/ran or wanted to run a non-standard WoD setting?
Dark Eras has dropped (check the Pastebin) opening up a whole host of historical settings with rules for archaic weapons and information about different time periods, and the Demon Storyteller's Guide provided hacks for different playstyles as well as three alternate settings, including ancient roleplay set in Biblical times and an alternate Cyberpunk future to fight against.
One of the things I've wanted to do is to create a system hack for running WoD in a full fantasy setting, using the same systems of Hedge and Astral and Shadow, but in a more Revealed and fantastical world, but I've always been put off by the fact that it's such a daunting task to do right.

Pavlovian conditioning using skittles.
If she does something good, give it a skittle.
Do not attempt to feed it something without sugar.
It may merely agitate it and cause it to stampede.

My twin brother. He never really liked to play but he loved to draw the characters we came up with.
>Family always ragging me about playing RPGs
>Offer to run a capeshit game since comics were big in our house
My little brother was about 13, and he came up with the best damn original hero I've ever seen.
LIGHTNING BEE
Bee's powers include electrostatic jolts, an ability to sense electric current, flight, and slightly enhanced strength and reflexes.
In order to access his powers, he needs to feel *afraid*. Fight-or-flight doesn't cut it, he needs to be scared. The more terrified he feels, the more powerful he becomes.
In our game, we worked out that every round, he rolled a cumulative will save as he worked himself up into a panic with bad thoughts. If he failed the save, he fell into a blind panic, flying in circles and blasting electricity at random.
I couldn't have been prouder.
>>46930108
Fucking terrible. 3 out of 4 characters he's made are some sort of Goku ripoff, or some other shonen archetype. He regularly tries to strongarm the rest of the party into doing what he wants, and any perceived slight against him by a PC is met with lethal force. He's a worse DM, though. He barely plays RPGs, and yet he still feels compelled to make his own terrible system, and railroads constantly.
What's the stupidest thing you've had a player during a campaign? During my last session I had the players invade a thri-kreen encampment and while they were planning out the details of it one of the players complained that their incredibly basic invasion plan was too detailed for how smart the characters were and added, this is a direct quote "How do we know the thri-kreen aren't going extinct on their own?"
>>46927910
My current group woke up a vampire assuming he could be convinced to join their crew.
>>46927910
Players find a stone chest. Beat around the bush when they actually want to open it. One finally opens it.
- "What's in it?"
- "Green Slime"
- "I stick my hand in it!" :D
- "Alright, you're gobbled up and are taking continuous damage, half of the damage it takes goes to you." (He played a wizard.)
He threw a temper tantrum, got saved and felt sorry for himself without thanking anyone else.
>PC1 sees a weapon called a 'micro-nuke launcher' in the rulebook. Decides that he wants it. He doesn't have enough money.
>PC2 gives him money to help buy it.
>We meet BBEG, who thinks that the PCs are his allies.
>PCs decide that BBEG must be stopped.
>PC2 runs off to warn BBEG about us before we have made our plans.
>Remaining PCs agree that our survival is secondary to stopping BBEG.
>BBEG gives PC2 a large number of mooks to try and stop us.
>Mooks appear. All standing in one group with PC2 in the middle.
>PC1 fires micro-nuke launcher at PC2.
>PC2 and all the mooks die.
>Two more PCs, including one that PC2 hated for most of the campaign, die because they chose to stay within the blast radius to make sure that BBEG's anti-matter reactor loses containment.

You are Tom Gainer and you only slightly regret running into that burning building. Or so you muse as you remove the oxygen mask from your face. Your Super Union supervisor and date for tomorrow, Tiffany Cooke (aka Cicada Killer), is finishing up a conversation with local authorities. Most likely giving a statement on what they were doing and giving general details on your exploits up to their arrival. Slowly, you are able to breathe deeper without a wheezing sound.
"That was real stupid, you know." Cicada Killer chastised you as she sits down next to you. "You saved quite a few lives, but you aren't invincible. That's not in your power set." You look at her and notice significant worry in her eyes. "Crimson Beach has a habit of chewing through Capes. I've told you as much! But you go in without a second thought for your own safety and... and leave me behind to call in the guys who are TRAINED to jump into the fire!" That worry seems to be working into something a bit more extreme, but the blonde takes a deep breath and calms herself back down. "You're really suited to being a Cape, you know that? No hesitation running into a burning building and evacuate it and even put out the source of the fire before emergency crews can even arrive." She gives you an awkward pat on the shoulder. "Good job, Tom."

>How have your characters interacted with addiction recently? (pic related, my cleric, high on god)
What a coincidence, my Paladin is also addicted to God and doing Goodness. This is very tricky when playing with a total alignment system!
I've mostly avoided them.
I've got a few addictive substances statted out for my homebrew but I'm not sure about an addiction system yet. I've thought about a con/wis check after X uses (with disadvantage when you double) and unrecoverable exhaustion for a week or two if you go cold turkey after failing the Con/Wis save.
