I moved away from everyone I played D&D with for a few years and never paid any attention to 5E.
How angry is 5E making /tg/? Or do people actually like it? Any recommended writeups about it and its pros/cons/differences?
/tg/ is not angry about 5e. Pretty much everyone thinks it's decent or is indifferent besides salty PF players scared that they're losing players.
It plays a lot like a hybrid 2e/3.5e, with a lot of 3's worthless fat cut out. Rules and chargen are extremely straightforward, so is combat. Classes are all useful at some niche, the only ones which are poor are the ranger and to a lesser extent the monk.

Eh, I've seen some confusion on some instances where.. The A word comes into play. Such as raise undead. And again with casters being so powerful, the reveiws are mixed. I'd say it's better than 4e but good luck having the Thread not turn into an intellectual debate, followed by butthurt.

Sounds like it's ripe for people crying about it being dumbed down, even if they were actually smart changes.
Welcome to WrestleQuest! A SOL Quest where you take the role of young Robin Winters, as he tries to make it big in the crazy world of pro-wrestling under the persona of The Ace.
Today, you won't be playing as The Ace. We're taking a step back in time to focus on another young wrestler by the name of Owen Barnes.

Anyone else like the new BW Eldrazi Taxes deck? Seemed pretty fun to me. I like these new Eldrazi decks without eye, just big creatures with good stuff, it's pretty fun and fair. Interested in seeing who wins the scg tourney today. Lot of Abzsn Company, the deck seems to just keep getting better as we move forward, seems like as long as there's creature tutors, that deck will stick around. Also the 8-0 D&T player last night cheats.
>>47018485
I was building that deck before Eldrazi exploded, same as a lot of people were. It's fun, but I hate TKS in a deck where Aether Vial and Temple pull you in differing ways.
>>47018717
What do you mean Eldrazi exploded? Like after it got banned? Why build a bad version before it got banned?
Jim Davis said BW Eldrazi Taxes is bad, pack it in everyone.

The widow of the dead original author stated that the rumors which have been going on for years are true and some unnamed studio is probably going to be offering networks without their own production some WoT themed filler in the coming years. No news to report.

Usually because of assholes abusing the concept and intentionally going out of their way to borrow *plot or combat important items* (>>47027588) rather than just like rocks, leaves, feathers, and items that get stuck in a pack and never used again.
I hate them because their racial description dictates the reactions of those that encounter them.

When asked about the reprint of Thoughtseize, this was Maro's response:
>Here’s the problem. The vast majority of cards that matter in Modern, that are powerful enough to be relevant in a format with that many cards, will horribly warp Standard. We experimented in Theros with Thoughtseize and it went quite badly.
Aside from that other hated ideas that Maro has played a roll in instrumenting in mtg are:

What a shock.
Right now is just a very dangerous time to be sane. The easy route is just paying lipservice until this SJW business blows over.
It's just a bad page in the history books, like when Magic had to downplay most of the occult business in its cards to avoid antagonizing fundamentalists. But, it's always just a push-and-pull kind of system, and the SJW business is already starting to receive plenty of public backlash, which is funny because it largely starts from SJW groups antagonizing each other.

You are Carrina Marseille O'Hara, a powerful Newtype serving as a Captain and mobile suit pilot in the recently-formed Colony Transit Fleet, and you're a bit out of your element.
The half-terraformed bottom of the Mariner valleys rushes by outside the windows as the cold Martian night closes in around your train car, which is devoid of any passengers but the six unnamed assailants who...

That said you're still far more comfortable with mobile suit combat than with this sort of situation, particularly in freefall where controlling remote weapons is easier. Many would-be pilots in the early days of the One Year War in which you served were fine soldiers, who absolutely could not keep up with the dizzying maneuvers and relentless pace of mobile suit combat in space. While it was true that Zeon won a series of crushing victories against the Federation forces at the time, it was also true that for any particular pilot candidate the role was almost a suicide detail.
That style of combat is better to your mind, though: the freedom of it, the raw power behind your seat, the way you can let your instincts take the wheel entirely leaving your conscious mind free to devise counters to every move your foe makes. And unlike getting into close-quarters fights with terrorists, you've never lost an eye doing it.
Not a fun memory.
The gunman you presume to be the leader of the group clears his throat.
“So, how do you propose we resolve this situation?” he asks. His voice is even and controlled, and you can tell that it's not strictly speaking a front. He may be much more composed than the rest of his little six-man crew, but it's not the confident kind of “composed”: more like he's resigned himself.
“We don't,” you tell him, putting special emphasis on the appropriate point of contention between you. “You come up with a solution we don't hate and we don't put a bullet in your forehead.”
“You know, El-Tee,” one of the other gunmen mutters in a still-audible voice. “We could just ice these two crazy bitches and go while we have the chance.”

The Lieutenant, as is apparently his rank, sighs as his eyes leave the sight line for the first time during this entire episode.
“What the SHIT!?” he demands in an agitated falsetto. “Didn't you just see what happened? They were drawing their sidearms AS I gave you the signal! These are actual fucking Newtypes here!”
“We've handled Newtypes before...”
“Listen, kid,” the Lieutenant interrupts. “There's a whole lot of people out there who are technically Newtypes,...

“Now,” the Lieutenant sighs, turning his full attention back to the matter at hand. Damn. “Where were we... ah, right. You said something about us proposing a solution?”
“We remember that, yes,” you nod. “So if you're quite done?”
The gunman smirks. “See, our de facto leader heard two something-special Newtypes were here visiting the Queen. He's curious. Wanted us to either bring you to him so he could have a little chat, or failing that. for us to put a bullet in your brains....

Welcome to Academy City. The time is late morning, the weather is fine, and the date is February 15.
You are Kyril Torikov, Level 3 telekinetic instructor and class was still in session. This morning, you just woke up your successor to the business of being the City’s bitch. MINERVA, as a Last Order had named her, was a combat cyborg just like you. The difference was that she took after the Sisters, more specifically her creator Last Order, than anyone else. MINERVA was an electromaster after all. She even preferred the AK to the assortment of weapons you had laid out...

Stay calm. Take a deep breath, and don't lose your cool.
Even in times such as these – especially in times like these – it's important not to lose control of the situation. Even if the situation, by all accounts, is well and truly beyond your control. With cultist soldiers attacking the palace ahead...

As you recount the facts – the few details that you know to be facts, at least – you slowly grow to notice the muffled sound of Aya sobbing to herself, mourning the loss of her beloved newspaper as silently as she can. It's an awkward sound to listen to, and you can't think of a single thing to say to her. This sort of thing... it was never your area of expertise.
“We tossed a coin to decide,” one final, choked sob escapes Aya as she speaks up suddenly, her voice cracked and broken, “Who...

If her father was out getting drinks he should still be there safe. I doubt cultists would attack a tavern for no reason and I don't think Takino's soldiers would either.

Going back in time to kill myself.
So tg I was at the flg and noticed every table was 30k or 9th age. I ask the players why play 30k and the answeres were either " My chaos is to far behind and won't be updated" or "Did you see the wulfen/angels of death!? I'm out". Meanwhile 9th age players said what you'd expect about aos being a train wreck. Next day went to another flgs to see my friend working there and same story. Have you noticed this?

Same for me, but people are dropping GW completley in favour of Infinity.
40k still gets occasional play, but most havent made a new purchase since Calth. This is all a good thing

I'm just alittle nervous that the beast arises, wulfen and physics were attempts by gw to scare us towards aos which they've been making look more 40kish. 40k is the money maker so why starve it to fix a failure?

Basically yes and it's hurt them.
Now they are desperately trying to undo the damage done by their utter shittiness by engaging with the community somewhat.
Too little too late I think. No way am I putting any more time, effort or money to engage in their fucktarded games.
Also they're knocking out some REALLY shit models and art these days. Premium my arse.
