Backstory doesn;t take alot of explaining, gives a good reason my character knows how to fight, and having just won their freedom (or escaped) they have plenty of reason to use the only skill they have (killing things) to make some kind of living that won't have them right back in the arena as a slave again.

How do the Orders find and recruit new mages? Is it as simple as a Fate/Space spell aimed at locating the freshly Awakened, or is everyone just stuck waiting until the newbies unleash some nasty Paradox.
Yeah, that sucked. Some party members receiving an arbitrary disadvantage at character generation was a legacy mechanic from a time when game design hadn't progressed as far as it had now. So there was a thread a few days ago about what kind of red flags DMs look for in bad players before they accept them into their groups, so I wonder what you DMs consider to be signs of GOOD players?

The problem is that I cannot. There is no such that as a sign of a good player. There are only players who don't have red flags.
